On Monday, May 17, 2021, unexpectedly, Richard died at home. I was unprepared, disbelief, and shock. At around 5:00 pm the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home service arrived to transport him to their funeral home. Distraught, I called his sister, Sharon. Because Richard's mother had been cremated, she was certain that her brother, would want the same. (I couldn't even remember his final wish.) So, next morning, I telephoned to provide the information, as it was my husband's wish to be cremated. Only to find out he was already embalmed and I was responsible for service fee of $1095. Following this, on May 19, I met with the Director for the purchase/ signing of service agreement. I did not request the embalming. He said, "it was necessary." Richard Fritz did not need to be embalmed less than 24 hours after his demise.
