I was late for my hair appointment at the Beach Waves Beauty Salon in Lewes DE due to an emergency situation whereby an Ambulance was trying to make it's way through in order to get to the Beebe Hospital in Lewes DE. The traffic was "bumper-to-bumper"and all of our vehicles pulled over to the side of the road to let the Ambulance get by. I called the Beach Waves Beauty Salon from my car to let them know why I was running late and they checked with my beautician. She said I needed to be there by either 10:15am or 10:30am; however, I did not arrive until around 11am or a little later due to the aforementioned situation. When I arrived, I was advised by the Front Desk that my hairdresser would no longer take me but that I had to pay for my appointment (which is $30.00), so I gave them my check. I sent my hairdresser an email apologizing for being late and explained that I had no control over the situation! My hairdresser responded via email to me stating that I was always late for my appointments, which is absolutely not true!!! My hairdresser has left me waiting at times to either finish the hair of a customer she was working on, or when she'd go next door to the Weis Supermarket to pick up something, or when she was in the back of the beauty salon on her cell phone! I've been going to this Beauty Salon for over 2 years now! I feel strongly that it was very unfair for the Beach Waves Beauty Salon to charge me $30.00 for my hair appointment, given this particular situation over which I had no control!!! Needless to say, I will not be going back to the Beach Waves Beauty Salon but I wanted customers to be aware of what happened to me!
