I recently had an incident with my storage unit #425 at istorage at Hickman Road in Claymont Delaware and feel as if I have been getting shafted. The storage unit I was renting experienced a leak in their roof, and damaged my 3 chairs that are used in my office. I did contact the worker onsite to let him know of the damage and was told to contact their insurance company. They asked and I provided at least on three separate occasions verification of documentation that was requested of the incident along with photos, this was in May. I had recently received a letter stating that they are holding me responsible, which is indeed ridiculous, since I did not cause their ceiling to leak onto my chairs, their denial claims it was flood damage, however there was not a flood, as nothing else in my storage unit was damaged. I would like for istorage to pay for the damage to my chairs. I am attaching correspondence along with their denial letter. I am not sure why they are refusing to acknowledge the validity of my claim. I had called istorage about this, on August 9 and spoke to an agent that said that they would get back to me within 72 hours, and no one ever bothered to call back to follow up. I would like istorage to repair/replace my chairs as they are clearly responsible for the damage sustained.
