F&J Builders is a great company. I have had them in my home on multiple occasions including a new roof, siding, tear down and replacement of a failing wall, as well as a brand new deck build. Good family-owned contractor. Personal attention, skilled specialized craftsmen, (tile, drywall, electrical, plumbing). Very helpful with decorating decisions. Willing to work with you on the minor details. They arrive when the say they will. When they finish something, it is finished, no come backs. destroyed my kitchen and bath. wrong floors....vanity STILL does not fit, sticks out 2 inches. wrong faucets...wrong counter top...storm door leaking oil for months...flooring glue is still everywhere...I gave them a lot of time (months) to fix the mess and finally had to give up and make them leave...and then they sent me a bill for the entire amount even tho they fixed nothing. save your money , worst experience everF & J Builders, LLC Response

I'm the owner of F&J. We are confused why these negative comments are being put out there. I'm sorry you were not happy with what we did in your home. We have not done work for you since the middle of the pandemic in 2021. As you can see, we don't have any negative comments here. There was some hic-ups in this project from the start. As the owner I came out to figure out a solution and to rectify these issues. I went over multiple options for the few items. Some items you gave us ideas for but would not work in your circumstance either because of layout, budget or what not. So, I suggested items that would work. I did not order these until I personally went in your new space and explained how the item would look. You agreed so we moved forward. When it came time for your countertop in the bathroom, you wanted a in stock top (instead of the custom top we were to provide per contract) that would not work with her vanity because your sink, and mirror would be off center by a lot. Glue on the floor??? What glue could that be. We install LVP flooring in your home, where no glue is required. When it comes to the storm door, the gas shock from the box was leaking, in which we swapped out immediately discovering the oil leaking. This was taken care of prior to us even being completed with your project. Long story short, we tried to provide the best service at the time with backorders, delays and more due to the pandemic. Our staff made their mistakes too, but there was no reasoning with you. We were very communitive with you on every step of the job. We have all the emails and communications from us to you. My staff were yelled at, I was screamed at, I was told I screamed at you too...My staff even begged never to go back there because of your actions and belittling. At the end of the job, we gave back allowance difference that were owed to you plus additional discount on top of that for any inconveniences. We did our best to make you happy. We haven't heard from you since you made your last payment to us in Nov 2021, although we told you we would honor our work for 1 year! This is the first form of communication from you. We didn't have any projects that are outstanding at your home, nor have been waiting months for us to come back. If that was the case, why would you pay us our final payment. Unfortunately, you blasted us on google and yelp last week. We have many positive reviews; this review is uncalled for. This whole post is completely misconstrued.Customer Response

I did not leave a review before because i wanted to avoid this kind of response, you are very condesending and aggressive. you're a bit of a bully, at least with women. But let me try to address your comments..... there were NO budget issues, this was all cash. nor were there any layout issues, you just never measured anything. I DID measure and emailed you exactly what I wanted...AND would fit. you ignored that. * the glue on the floor (and lower cabinet) YOU said it was glue and had Frank clean it up , so I can only hope you didnt use glue * the bathroom vanity issue was because you ordered the wrong size (48 inch which does NOT fit in a small bath). I emailed you 5 (IN STOCK) vanities that would fit (32 & 36 inch) that were exactly the right size. the mirror and sink were off center with the large vanity that you ordered but perfect with the correct size vanity. * the storm door, the gas shock was NEVER swapped out. you were supposed to.I have the original one still here...and still leaks. * your staff were NEVER yelled at ,thats just a lie. *you were told you yelled at me.... by your staff I assume, you were on speaker and they heard you (one of your staff apologized for you) * I yelled back because I had enough. 4 or 5 day job that lasted months because you could get things done correctly, and would absolutely not listen. * I seriously doubt that anyone "begged" to not come back here, since 2 of your staff left their card and 2 more (3 if you count the electrician) gave me their cell number if I wanted them to come back and fix this mess. I have all the photos of your "work", and there is so much more wrong... wrong counter in the kitchen, thresholds installed wrong ( came loose in a week ) holes your staff made in the kitchen walls . you have never apologized and per your wife there was NO warranty since I said I did not want you guys here anymore. as for why did I pay you.... good question, I did not pay the requested amount ( you STILL never gave me an invoice, just a total- NOT okay) I really should not have paid a penny for this kind of work , but I was taught to do the right thing and paid something. but you could be correct , I should not have and you seem to agree with that, you should refund . but you just dont seem to be a "do the right thing" kind of guy. I think you saw an older woman and took advantage of that and did whatever you felt like. shame on you. i can resend you all the photos if you would like to review your "work"Customer Response

almost forgot.....the old floor in the bath was never removed (per contract) * sink in the kitchen is in crooked and backwards ( disposal on the wrong side) *no sink in the house til you put a washtub in our bathroom and we had to deal with that for weeks...because you couldnt pick up the vanity i wanted...which was in stock... your staff was bringing trash and old furniture to throw in the dumpster in the driveway... *2 different corners on the bathroom vanity (which sticks out a couple inches ( one square and one rounded)... * gaps in the floor - fixed after job was "done"... * quarter round too high for threshold ( sticking up about 1/ inch, tripping hazard) ... * only 4 drawers in bath vanity (6 drawers per contract) ... * old brass deadbolt NOT returned as requested, several times.. * and even tho I insisted, NO masks were worn , at any time, by anyone. i stayed downstairs with the dogs the whole time your staff was working here... and the list goes on... I have all the pics, security footage and emails to back this up , so stop saying you did a good job, you did nothing of the sortCustomer Response

..... also, you are welcome to have the bath vanity back. the overflow drain was either installed wrong, or has a defect. it is completely blocked so slowly fills with water. it has to e syphoned out as it gets pretty nasty. the sink cannot be replaced since it is mounted to you "custom" top.... it is easier (and less expensive) to just replace it... maybe with the one that fits, there are just sooooo many thing wrong,,, its very very upsetting
