Hi I had bicyckle insurance, that included teft, damage, accidents. I file claim with them they never paid. , saying that my bike was not locked to a bike rike. There was no bike rike at the store. And insurance option allowes short visits to store for 10 minutes or so, while you keep an eye on the bike, which I did. Bike was actually stolen. They took my money they never recovered teft. Please find enclosed explanation about going inside without bike locked. Their attorney outlined that. So I think I should get paid for my loss $ 800. Or get replacement. Thank youBusiness response

We acknowledge that Mr. X is unhappy with the outcome of his bicycle theft claim.
On March 20, 2022, Mr. X submitted a theft claim for his bicycle. As per the claimant’s incident description, he stopped at a gas station in mt Prospect, Illinois, to get groceries. When he returned from the shop five to ten minutes later, his bicycle was stolen. Sundays Insurance was unable to obtain the requested evidence from the claimant and he underwent an examination under oath in order to get an accurate and detailed incident description. The examination concluded that the claimant did not lock his bike to an immovable object since the station did not have a bike rack. This finding contradicts the claimant’s initial incident description where he stated that his bike was locked and his theft claim was therefore denied by our carrier, U.S. Specialty Insurance Company, seeing that he failed to comply with the Security Conditions outlined in the policy wording.
Included below is an extract of the wording in the Policy Form:
Security conditions
“Away from home - If your bicycle is left unattended while away from your home, it must be securely locked through the frame of the bicycle to an immovable object by an approved lock. Unattended means whenever your entire bicycle is out of your direct line of sight or more than five (5) yards away from you. For clarity purposes, if you are stopping to have a coffee after a ride, you don’t have to lock your bicycle if it is less than 5 yards from you and in your direct line of sight the entire time. If you can’t see it, even if it is just for a few moments, it must be locked as specified above to be covered.”

Sundays Insurance will not be able to settle the claim.

Hellothank you for writing.I dont accept their response to my complain because I dont believe they trouly and honestly reviewed what they wrote. It says in their emaild their response to me saying that i didnt lock my bike and at the same time they say bike dsnt have to be locked if its short window visit to the store.Somebody took bike while I was there and i wasnt fighting with thief. In their explanation , they said they dont need to lock bicyckle if its by window and within 5 yards from bikes owner. So, I dont understand. Maybe they didnt read their explanation, or just dont want to pay for insurance loss. I sent them what happened. after that they said I dont need to lock bike. They should pay .Thank youMaybe they can tell why they should pay instead why they dont pay.Business response
