I would like to warn against the GreenGeeks affiliate program because it is a fraudulent company that steals the work effort and close the account for no reason. They closed my account two weeks before I paid so that they would not pay me my profits amounting to $600 and they claim that the referrals are not of good quality and this is a reason that condemns them even more because in the first place it is not my problem.( Hello mady,The account will remain suspended, due to suspicious activity and concern over the quality of the signups you've sent to GreenGeeks. For more information, you can review our affiliate program terms and conditions here: ) What? The client will use his own hosting, and after communicating with them, they will not respond to you because they say that you have violated the conditions, and of course they cannot give any reason other than that. Do not work with this company ever, ever, ever, and I will take the necessary measures against them because I will never work for free. Ironically there is no SEO to talk to.If there is someone here who has a mind to understand, contact me so I can get my money or go to court.GreenGeeks, LLC Response

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Im sorry to hear about your experience with our affiliate program. We take these matters very seriously and would like to address your concerns directly.
After a thorough audit, it was found that the signups from your accounts exhibited suspicious behavior.
In general, suspicious behavior may occur when multiple signups happen simultaneously, the signups do not respond to our emails, or the websites associated with the signups are the same or similar. These findings would lead to the suspension of your account in accordance with our affiliate program terms and conditions, which aim to maintain the integrity of our services.
Our internal investigation details have been shared with you.
We understand your frustration and are committed to resolving this matter fairly. If you believe there has been a misunderstanding, don't hesitate to contact our affiliate support team directly with any additional information or documentation you can provide.

I rave about GreenGeeks to all my clients, simply because they are the best hosting provider I have experienced in the past 20 years in my interaction with them as a web developer. They offer the best and most affordable services (free daily malware scans and removal, free SSL, free support in everything...) and they stand out among all other hosting co.'s with their excellent and immediately reachable tech reps. I have been using them exclusively for all of my clients for the past 4 years and have not yet had any complaint. I very highly recommend them to everyone for a website hosting.GreenGeeks, LLC Response

I am a lawyer. It is my professional opinion, based on my experience with GreenGeeks, that this company is running a bait-and-switch scheme that violates the law of contract in addition to consumer protection legislation.GreenGeeks advertises unlimited e-mails and unlimited storage on its website. What it actually means by "unlimited" is that "storage is very limited, but we call it 'unlimited' in order to lure people in to use our services." Its "Acceptable Use Policy," which GreenGeeks reserves the right to change at any time, with no notice, is that you are not allowed to use more than 10GB of storage space and not allowed to keep any e-mails for longer than 30 days. Seriously. Calling it "unlimited" is incredibly misleading. One of their customer service representatives argued that they do not advertise e-mail services on their website at all -- which is a blatant lie, given that their website very clearly DOES offer e-mail services and I have been in contact with their tech support department on many occasions because their e-mail servers were not working correctly and we were unable to send or receive e-mails as a result.Recently, with NO notice whatsoever, GreenGeeks disabled all of my firm's e-mail addresses, saying that were were "abusing" its servers by keeping e-mails for longer than 30 days and using more than 10GB of storage space. After we threatened to **** they temporarily restored access to our accounts. Then, GreenGeeks DELETED all of our e-mails older than one year from its server, and backed them up into a tarball that it says it will delete as well in 7 days.I want a refund. Their refund policy is weak, however, saying that you need to request a refund within 30 days of the service's start date. I would have happily done so if GreenGeeks caused so many serious problems within the first thirty days, but it did not; it waited until we were about 11 months into our 36-month contract to restrict the services for which we already paid.Review from Kim N

I upgraded my service with GreenGeeks and in the process, unbeknownst to me, a duplicate account was created. I was being billed twice per month due to this error. I cancelled the service I knew about, but continued to be billed for the second, unused account. Personnel have not been helpful in allowing me to cancel this duplicate account and get a refund.Review from David I

They won't let me cancel and keep charging me even after talking to a human and getting direct email confirmation that my account will be cancelled. Their system to cancel is online where you fill out a form then your get a notification that cancellation failed. An endless loop. then I contacted my bank to block any more charged and reported fraud. My bank refunded me then Green Geeks charged me again months later for $324. My bank said they can get around the block by changing their phone number so they are a crooks.Review from Ryan T

Scam-Ville. 13 years with them until I found out the truth and I'm shocked. Shocked to find out they self-accredit 300% carbon offset (created a shell partner with absolute no auditing tools) for their hosting and apparently are busy planting trees in Africa - who came up with the ploy, a middle schooler? GG could provide no validation of either claim and worse, they couldn't fund my customer number when my site went down. I'm sorry, I've been with you for over a decade and can't find my information. What? When it did I started investigating them - their workforce is all virtual, their company basically vapor-ware. Do they host a website, yes - do middle schoolers, yes. I would rather go with a tech-savvy middle schooler than these scam artists. Furthermore, the positive reviews simply don't gel. Notice how nothing is really in between? It's people like me, real people who are really upset, and then techies saying how great they are - trust me, they aren't - they don't offer anything but commody-type services, no one "loves" basic hosting. It would be like gushing of the power company, I. Don't. Think. So. Hopefully this gets escalated and they get investigated - it's clear on their linked pages they're running a shell corporation of 60+ agents mostly from abroad. So many better options and now with social media we can see for ourselves that this is a red-faced liar club. Again, nearly 15 years of unchecked run-of-the-mill hosting - once something goes wrong - they're not there. People like me don't get so upset with quality companies, they never called me back, never escalated anything, I've don't chat/called to much - often getting the same guy multiple days based in Latin America or Eastern Europe. Say what you want about Godaddy, but at least they're reformed and help you out - these clowns CANNOT relied on one. They CANNOT be trusted. Carbon offsets COST A TON, the economics simply aren't there, either is the truth. I'd give them 0 out of 5, save your money.Review from Erin Q

I am a full stack engineer and CEO of an award winning web development studio in Austin, Texas. We are one of 16 digital agencies in the world who focus on clean energy development, SEO and cyber security. I have utilized a multitude of platforms and hosting services since 1994. Currently, there is only one web host I would trust to power my clients. My customers are my main priority - I answer them within the same day they contact me, sometimes within the hour. I monitor their sites and keep them secure and online. I cannot and I mean CANNOT... rely on servers that are frequently down or have crap customer service. I need a web host that I can work with to maintain a smooth and well running ship. I absolutely loathe poor customer service, nonsense support BOTS (garbage!!), outsourced agents who can barely tie their own shoes let alone help or communicate with an stat issue. Thankfully I find none of that with GreenGeeks. PROS: GreenGeeks has excellent customer service, technical support run by real human beings with excellent communication and technical skills. They know what they are doing. The cPanel and SSL installs are set up in the most sensible way that makes it enjoyable for me to get work done. It's so smooth, I can glide through my work and not scream unintelligible cavewoman at the top of my lungs. Which everyone around me appreciates. Their security is tight, as a cyber security expert - this is crucial. Pricing is competitive. Features are excellent. CON: If they could improve one thing, I would say remove the one unpleasant woman in the billing department which is no doubt the reason for most of these complaints. Otherwise, the rest of the billing dept is great! I hope GreenGeeks sticks around for a very long time. For those who are having problems - web development is not for non-engineers. If you're having trouble, it probably starts with your lack of understanding. Try hiring a professional rather than getting lost in computer science.Review from David F

I have been a GreenGeeks customer for a long time. On April 13, 2022 I received an email from an "Abuse/Monitoring Agent" regarding our emails using too much disk space. This email, and subsequent emails from various agents contained aggressive language and ultimatums. I had no idea that there was a storage limit to our subscription, especially since the cPanel email settings allow for "unlimited" storage. I responded the same day that "we are working on getting all of our emails within GreenGeeks parameters", and that it "will take approximately one week from now" to resolve. I requested that GG allow the emails to stay active during that time. I received a response that same day, April 13, asking that I "try to resolve the issue within 7 days". Then, on April 16, I received an email from the original agent stating, "to date, we have not received a response or a resolution to this matter", and that, "we have been forced to suspend access to your email at this time". During that time we were in the process of archiving emails to reduce GG storage use. As a result of the GG email account tampering, our data transfer was interrupted, 3 days after another agent approved a 7 day grace period. As a result of this action by GreenGeeks, the transfer had to be re-started, causing even more delay. When I tried to appeal to GG to let us complete the archive transfer, I only received more cop-like aggression from agents with ultimatums, justification of their actions, and reduction of the original 7 days we were granted to resolve the issue. Being in the tech world, I would think that GG personnel would understand that it takes time to upload, backup and delete large amounts of data. After this treatment, that included a lot of my own wasted time pleading with GreenGeaks agents to allow us to complete the transfer, I decided to get rid of the service.Review from Brett M.

These guys are horrible. I canceled with them and then they charged me. They sent an email out saying that I didn't reply after I cancelled. Do not use them.
