Missing keys prompted a call to Affordable Lock on Saturday, March 30, 2024 requesting lock replacement of the previously installed Medeco locks and rekeying of the door handle locks. The on-call technician, **** said he could install temporary locks pending replacements and rekey the other door locks as well as cut new keys. Affordable Lock is the central Florida distributor for Medeco and therefore the sole reason I called them despite the original issue in July 2023. **** came to the house with 3 loaner locks, installed them and rekeyed the other locks. The loaner locks were new stock and each came with 2 keys. I was given 2 keys, which seemed fine because they were intended to be temporary and I assumed the other 4 were put back in their boxes which **** asked me to keep. He cut new keys onsite for the 3 door handle locks, then recut special keys imprinted with Affordable Lock telling me this way no one would be able to have them duplicated without going through Affordable Lock. I discussed replacement Medeco locks with **** and he said they would have to be ordered and keys cut at the shop before coming back to install them. I realized after hed left that he had kept and taken keys for both the temporary locks, despite the fact I had been billed and paid for them, and the 3 door handle lock keys he first cut without the Affordable Lock imprint. I told him I wanted to dispose of them. A lock technician should never leave a clients house with their house keys. Monday, April 1, texted **** and asked him to cancel the new lock order wed discussed because I didnt want locks whose keys couldnt be cut onsite. I also told him I was not going to accept a return of the keys hed taken and all 6 locks needed to be rekeyed and keys cut onsite. I asked him to find new locks comparable to the Medeco with keys that could be cut onsite. He said hed look into it and call back. He did not call back. I called Tues and Wed and never received a return call. I filed a CC hold.
