The dentist office provided an estimate, quoting insurance coverages, without verifying the coverage first. The carrier did not change, but the coverage type had changed from the prior year. I would not have had the procedure started if they had verified coverage appropriately. They are now billing almost $2000 for a $600 quote.Business response

I went in for a cleaning and xrays for $89. After the x-rays they tried to up-sell me on a more expensive cleaning. I told them that I just wanted a regular cleaning but they would not give it to me. They then proceed to charge me the full amount but would not give me the cleaning.Initial Complaint

I paid Monaco Dentistry almost $6000.00 last summer to have my teeth extracted, 1 filling and temporary and permanent dentures. I went back in January to get my permanent dentures and was told I needed to pay $2400.00 more. That was not the contract price I was charged in the beginning. I paid for the services up front and should not have had to pay hundreds more. I ended up going to another dentist for my permanent dentures, which was covered by my insurance this time, and would like to be reimbursed the amount I paid Monaco dentistry for my permanent dentures. Please help. I am a senior citizen and cannot afford to be over charged unfairly.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/06/11) */ According to the documents signed by the patient on 02/01/2021 our provider at Monaco Dentistry agreed to do the following procedures: Initial Exam and Xrays Periodontal Scaling and Root planing 8 Surgical Extractions 2 3 Surface Fillings 1 set of Lower Immediate Partial Denture 1 set of Upper Immediate Partial Denture All procedures were done on 04/07/2021 The total amount of the entire treatment plan was $4970.80 and patient agreed to pay the total balance in 6 months with interest. The total amount received was $5469.00 Patient was last seen in our office on 01/17/2022 and demanded for and our office manager presented all the documents and explained that she never paid for the permanent Partial denture and that there would be additional cost and then presented the new Treatment Plan for permanent upper and lower Partial dentures. Our office manager then explain and reviewed all the documents signed by the patient but patient disagreed and left our office. FYI: The patient didn't have insurance at the time or her insurance was not accepted in our office! Therefore no insurance were used in the treatment planning for the patient at the time. According to the Treatment planned signed by the patient 0n 02/01/2021 Monaco Dentistry only agreed to provide above mentioned procedures. All documents signed by the patient our available in our database and can be presented for future need.
