4/1/2024 Re: Reconditioned transmission: $1228.27 Reconditioned torque converter: $395.92 Waste disposal: $31.95 Zip kit/center support bearing: $216.38 Labor: $975 & $845 Tax: ****** Brought 2003 ****** Tacoma in due to noise and rough ride-advised transmission needed rebuild/replaced Business rebuilt transmission and replaced center support bearing. Vehicle was driven once after pick up-same noise and rough ride-brought vehicle back to shop after visibly inspecting u joints are bad-which business would have seen when dropping drive shaft to work on transmission. Employee-********** believe-stated that this should have been done, apologized and offered to correct issue for free due to company error. Advised they were unable to replace one of the u joints (odd for a transmission shop) and could send it out for $900. We declined as the business no longer seemed trustworthy and shoddy work was being done.Vehicle sat-unable to drive due to same vibration and noise. 3rd vehicle was driven until Tacoma was taken to another local shop to help and advise. Only one of the 3 u joints was replaced along with center bearing which already appears to be bad. It appears that nothing was done when employee offered to fix their issue free of charge. Some bolts are loose/mismatched/smaller than recommended. I called to get information of what exactly was done to the Tacoma at All Transmission World and when I spoke with ************* had no idea about any work being done to u joints and couldnt locate paperwork other than the initial write up with original complaint. He seemed surprised that I thought theyd have records after 2 months. We will now need to pay over $1000 to have someone else correct what still appears to be the original issue-u joints and driveshaft. We dont believe that there was ever an issue with the transmission as the noise and vibration remain. We would like to be refunded for the work done and are prepared to take other action.
