      In July 2022 we paid $4800 for **** sq feet of ProVista sod to be installed on our property by Agriscape Sod Services.The ProVista sod was dying upon install and filled with weeds. We mentioned to the project manager **** the day of install that parts of the sod look really brown and his response was "it just needs water." A majority of it died weeks later despite following the proper care instructions.The installer, Agriscape Sod Services, blames ************, the grower, for bad sod. Agriscape Sod Services asked us to file a complaint with Bethel farms. We did. ****** said there is nothing they can do and asked us to file with ****** ProVista. We did. ****** ProVista says the installer should have inspected the sod and should not have installed the sod. It was in bad shape on the pallets as evident in the day two pictures where the sod was already dying. They also did a poor job installing and did not roll per the contract as you can see from the separation of the squares in the following pictures.We called Agriscape Sod Services to discuss re-installation. They made excuses why they couldnt talk to us bad cell service or out of town and will call you in a week or at a bar and sitting beside the owner ***** but we cant talk to you right now. They have since refused to return our calls or text.

      First, we do not warranty grass. It is a living organism and we cannot control what happens after we leave. There was nothing wrong with the grass we installed. The grass was rolled. Even rolled grass will show lines until it grows in. The pictures the customer submitted are not date stamped. When the job was finished, the customer sent **** a text message thanking him and talking about how great the yard looked. Our installers also forgot to pick up payment the day of the job and we didn't go out to pick up payment until several days later and the customer said nothing about any issues with the grass. We asked the customer to provide documentation from her lawn maintenance company about how they serviced the lawn and the customer never provided. We feel this is an issue of lack of maintenance and the customer trying to blame everybody but themselves. I followed up with the customer on November 9th to see if she had followed my recommendations and she instructed me that her husband had hired somebody else to take care of the lawn.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      ***** called me and pretended not to know who I was. He was not following up nor has he ever provided any recommendations as we have never spoken. He said he fired his former employee **** and was checking ***** voicemails, now that he got access to his phone, and saw I had called several times. Im sure he only called me because of this complaint. He magically remembered who I was after describing the issue we were having with the sod.Said he remembered the job and took pictures 3 days after the install because **** had told him the grass was dying. We told **** in person right away the grass was dying and that message obviously made it to ***** if he took pictures a few days later. The lawn was watered properly as instructed by **** (and per ProVista site) with a sprinkler system (have ring video with dates of it being watered properly). It was sprayed as instructed. We have receipts with dates from Southern Greens. After reaching out to Provista they reviewed and said the installer is at fault. I let ***** know ProVista believes they let the grass sit for too long before installing and did not inspect the grass for bugs and root rot. No amount of proper maintenance was going to help us recover from grass that should not have been installed. ***** did not request any documentation from me. He asked what I wanted and I said a refund. He just ended the call with I need to talk to ProVista and hung up. He has never called me back.


      The sod was over $4000 to install. This was a significant investment for us and we followed all recommendations from **** and the Provista documentation.We take very good care of our property and ****************** to help us. We gave Agriscapes every opportunity to fix the issue but they blamed the grower ************, gave us the run around and then blew us off for 4 months. Now, they want to blame the customer instead of owning up to a bad install. We are requesting a refund.

      Hello. Attached is the email exchange between myself and ProVista. Our lawn needed 8 pallets to completely replace the bad areas and ProVista offered us 3. We eventually settled on 4 pallets for a credit of $464 (see invoice attached).  Total to install with a new company who followed the ProVista guidelines was $4336. I tried reaching out to Agriscapes again via text and voicemail to give them the opportunity to install before moving on and losing the opportunity with ProVista but they never returned my call or text.

      The previous grass was removed. The yard was graded. The grass was installed staggered and rolled and we watered it. After that it is up to the customer. There are no warranties as this is a live product that required maintenance. There is no proof that these issues occurred at installation. We asked for timestamped photos and have not received.

      I contracted with AgriScape to remove old sod and install new St Augustine Provista sod in backyard and on median strip in front of my house. August 5,2022, work was done. I paid them by check $2,540. I contacted the company the next day and sent photos showing how bad the sod looked with many dead pieces and weeds. AgriScape **** ***** came out on Aug. 7 to take a look. He took photos and said they would have Bethel Farms (where they get the sod) come out. Bethel Farms rep showed up 2 days later and said, yes, there was a lot of dead sod and it would take a pallet to replace all the problem areas. He also pulled up a sample of something that had started growing which wasn't the Provista sod. I waited a few more days and when I didn't hear anything from AgriScape, I called the ************* few days with nothing being done, I started calling the main number - had to leave voicemails and asked for call back. No response from them. I emailed the manager, ***** and sent more photos and asked for a call back and to let me know when the sod would be replaced. No one is answering my calls, and none is answering my emails. It's now been almost a month and I'm still watering twice a day ti try to keep the parts of the sod that are green alive. It looks awful. All I have asked for is replacement for the dead/bad pieces of sod. I need your help on making this company fix the problem or refund my money if they don't want to do the job.

      We are just the installer. The farm that we purchased the product from sold us bad grass. We had a vendor from the supplier come out and they admitted fault and agreed to replace it, but they have to solve the problem in the field. This is a new grass that is designed to resist roundup application. It will take time for the farmer correct the issues they are having. If we were to replace the grass now, the problem will reoccur. We advised the customer this will take time and gave her the option to select a different type of grass but the customer wants this specific grass.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      AgriScape has never given me this information. They have not contacted me and when I have called, emailed and texted, no one has answered or returned my voicemails, emails or texts. 

      I would definitely want this dead grass replaced with a different grass. I was never told this was an option. I would be glad to have the ************ Floratam  grass replace the dead sod in my yard and median strip.  

      I hope this makes clear both my objection to their response as well as wanting replacement for the sod.

      As previously stated we do not warranty grass as it is out our control how it is maintained after the installation. I am willing to replace the area of grass that we installed one time as a gesture of goodwill for purpose of customer satisfaction and resolution to the BBB complaint. Once again WE DO NOT WARRANTY GRASS as stated in the original quote which the consumer signs off on.
