Triton Recovery LLC has entered into s Consent Order with the State of Minnesota Department of Commerce to settle allegations that the Triton Recovery conducted business in Minnesota as a collection agency without a license and engaged in prohibited practices by communicating with debtors in a misleading or deceptive manner by using instruments which simulate the form and appearance of judicial process.
THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, pursuant to Minn. Stat. Ch. 45 (2022) that:
A. Respondent shall pay a civil penalty in the amount of $15,000 to the State of Minnesota. The Commissioner has stayed $10,000 of this penalty. Respondent must pay $5,000 at the time the Consent to Entry of Order is signed.
B. Respondent will be licensed as a collection agency if Respondent wants to continue engaging in debt collection in Minnesota
C. Respondent shall cease and desist from violating any laws, rules, or orders related to the duties and resognsibiliti6senifusted to this Commission Or under Minnesota Statute Chapters 332
D. Respondent shall pay all investigative costs in the amount of $135 at the time the Consent to Entry of Order is signed
