Our generator was damaged in lightning strike. Longs came out to repair it. They put the board in. The technician was not able to complete the repair because he found out after installing the board that there were some wires that needed to be replaced but he did not have the wires that day. We paid on July 18th 23 (the first time they came out when they installed the board) $1769.60 which included the defective relay and the labor charges to install in. When they came out on Augus 4, they charged us again for the relay and the labor to install the relay. We agree that we owe for the wires and the installation of the wires, but they refuse to itemize the labor charge, so that we know how much we owe for the labor for installing the wires, The technician told me on August 4 that the relay included with the July 18 installation was defective, that they would replace it for no charge. Also, a woman that we spoke with said that because it was so close to the warranty expiring, they would not charge to come out again.Business response

We have sent three different breakdowns prior to this notice to the customer. They have paid but shorted what they thought appropriate.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because. If the business sent three breakdowns, we did not receive two of them. The only one we received was the one sent after the BBB complaint. We sent our comments regarding the breakdown. We feel we are getting charged twice for things and we responded to the business regarding that. We have not received a response from the business in regardsto overcharge. So, we feel there is still no resolution.
Sincerely,

We emailed the invoice on 8/25/23 which had the breakdown. On 10/4/23 the invoice was mailed which had the breakdown again. On 10/11/23 we emailed on company letterhead a breakdown per customer's request once again.
The ********* have since paid but shorted us on what they thought was appropriate. This is closed on our end.

Complaint: 20692122
I am rejecting this response because: We were looking for an itemization of the labor cost which Longs never provided. We paid them what we actually owed them because they were trying to double charge us for both labor and a part.

This seems to be a misunderstanding about the term "itemizations." I (Al) am a retired cost accountant, and whenever I see an invoice with a large amount for labor, I always ask how many hours and what hourly rate this represents.
Example: Labor $300 its 4 hours at $75.00? 6 hours @ $50.00? Or what?

That was the task code to complete the job. You paid what you thought you owed and we accepted. This case is closed on our part.
