I noticed that there was some shingles caps(3) missing from one of the edges. On 01/04/24 I went up on the roof to repair the caps since there was rain coming on Saturday. I was looking to repair the caps I noticed that there was more shingles missing on east side of the house. As I am looking to see why we were missing so many shingles I noticed that there was a whole single row missing. Upon further inspection I noticed that there was no nails holding the shingles. I started documenting taking pictures of the issues when standing below the missing row I almost fall of the roof because the shingles came detached from the roof. It was a little over a square yard of shingles together detaching from the roof. The upper section from the missing row is unsecured as well. The shingles upon original installation were never nailed to the roof. We contacted the line see and insured roof contractor of signature roofing in ****** park, fl. And we were told that the owner was deceased, the business is now closed, the phones will be off this Friday 1/12/24 and they are bankrupt and there is nothing that can be done. I need to know what steps we can take to get a resolution for our roof that was never installed properly from the beginning. My whole issue from the date of installation that no one cared once they received their funds. There is no customer service whats so ever. Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/09) */ Contact Name and Title: Summer C****** President Contact Phone: 8636056402 Contact Email: [email protected] Contract was signed on 7/23/21 this project had engineered drawings which took 6 weeks. Once the drawing were received I submitted permit application. On 11/23/21 got notification for 4th wall const. Contacted owner and let him know. Got revisions of plans and re submitted plans on 12/14/21 and tried to contact homeowner to inform him that we had resubmitted the new drawings but his phone was disconnected so I emailed him asking for his new phone number and the email bounced back. During plan review we were informed he was in the greenswamp area and had to go through another review on 1/24/22 that cost us $150.00 dollars as well as paying $300.00 for the plans and all the revisions. The permit was approved on 2/23/2022 but with the lack of communication from the owner we did not pay for the permit. On 6/2/22 the homeowner finally contacted us by email with a new email address asking for an update on his project, I asked him for his current contact number so that we could speak to him with no response. He finally responded on 6/27/22 with his current phone number. The office tried a couple of times to call him with no response, we were trying to inform him that due to the lack of communication if he still wanted to move forward on the project it was going to cost more than the original contracted amount still no response. On 7/11/22 John C****** the Contractor and sole business owner went into the hospital on 7/26/22 he passed away. Mr. ******** called and was informed that John had passed away and that we were in the process of trying to get a qualifier and license holder for Signature Roofing and Construction, Inc but that it would take some time to get everything switched over, well he contacted BBB before this could happen. Might I mention he never paid for anything on this project, Signature Roofing Did!! Summer C******(myself) has started the process of becoming the business owner but John was young and died unexpectedly and had no will. I had to go through probate and all legal channels to make sure that all the changes with the business were done legally and this is still in process.
