      I was a original google customer but as they phased out their home security they offered free ADT products. I accepted them but had yet to install them or set up service. Somehow i began receiving a monthly charge for services. I called to cancel and received a confirmation email about my cancellation and a refund. The next month i was billed again for service. How does this happen? I am beginning to thing they bill people and see who notices, collect what they can.

      I hate that I HAVE to leave even 1 star just to post this review. I work for a company with 12 restaurants using ADT. All our accounts are auto paid, yet when we have an issue, we spend hours on the phone with representatives that pass us around because they can't find the account we are asking about. They say they will get a manager to call, yet they never do. When we go to cancel an account, they say they can't find it in their system, yet they took a payment for that account last week. They are lying. We have spent hours with a manager trying to link our accounts, yet the next time we call, they can't even find it. Sound like a complete scam. I read alot of reviews from other customers who seem to be dealing with the same issues. They are taking money, then can't or won't provide the service needed. Isn't that theft? How are they still getting by with this? Not everyone has the money to get an attorney to protect their interests. Luckily, we have one that we can reach out to. How does anyone trust this company to look out for them and protect them when they prove they don't care about their customers.

      My alarm system doesnt work and I had with alder then adt buy out alder and now after I cancel from alder alarm now adt want to charge me early cancel termination fee which is $1500 on a system that doesnt work They sent me bills and letters to reset my system and I told them it didnt work they never once ask why

      Worst customer service. It seems impossible to get past the first line of sales defense when you have a real issue with the product. I attempted to contact them multiple (documented) times to cancel services before the end of the subscription period. They mismanaged and deflected so many times that they did not cancel us until after the renewal period. They then told us that we would have to pay one full year of service before they would cancel us. After I wrote, emailed, called, and chatted with them, they finally agreed to cancel our account for a prorated fee. Our organization has been a customer for 17 years and they hassled us so bad and ended up sending us to collections for $184.05. I will never recommend this company, ever.

      THE WORST! We used them over 20 years ago when we first bought our home, so I thought I'd give them another try. I was initially told by ******** that we would only have to pay a monthly monitoring fee of $36.59 since we were already set up and ready to go. We would also have to pay a $25 installation fee. **** came out on June 27th and before I knew it, we were on the hook for paying for a new equipment, new sensors, cameras, and a ****** hub for a period of 5 years! It was late in the evening when we agreed, but I couldn't sleep that night because of the ridiculous amount of debt we just signed up for. I woke up the next morning and called them IMMEDIATELY to cancel the contract, June 28th. ***** said they'd come out and remove the big bulky sensors they had placed all over my windows and doors and the ****** cameras and hub. Since I was within the 3 days to cancel my contract, I would be issued a full refund. No one came. I called on July 1. ****** gave me some story about having to send the cancel request to the local or regional office to have someone come out and after they remove the equipment, they would then refund my payment. July 3, still no one came. I did, however, receive a bill on July 8th! Finally, *********** came out on July 10th. He removed the big sensors from my windows and doors, but left all the tacky tape stuck on them. Well, at least I could get my refund now. NOPE! Instead, ADT charged my account/auto-debit funds from my checking account! I called and called. Every day, there was some story about have to be approved by the office or supervisor! This went on for weeks! Then, they tried to withdraw even more money from my account, but I was able to contact my bank to stop it from going through! After weeks and weeks of calling and complaining and being lied to, I FINALLY received a refund on August 16th, almost 2 months later! But these jokers tried to auto-debit my account again on August 17th! DO NOT sign up with ADT!

      It is was possible to give ADT zero stars, then I would do so. Instead I have to put in one start my review. I would expect in a home security service, that a customer would at least be able to actually reach someone if the equipment fails, or the alarm goes off or any other small or large issue that might arise. Wouldn't that be the point of having an alarm / security system? ADT fails at every turn. They are notoriously difficult to actually reach. They don't even post a phone number on their website. Those before me wrote of their difficulty in reaching anyone through their **************** I tried anyway. But no luck. In the end, while my house alarm failed to actually work for 6 months (!), I was never, ever, able to actually reach a person to cancel my service. Despite being on hold for up to 1 hour at a time. The word "frustrating" doesn't really begin to cover it. Use ******* They are excellent. The service works reliably and you can typically reach someone in a reasonable amount of time.

      ADT is no longer a reputable company. I used them back in 2009 when you put a password into a key pad. All went well. Now they partnered with ******* something they dont tell you when you sign up, so now you have two companies and two apps to deal with. It has taken a month to get it to 75% working and Im still not satisfied. ADT gives you 3 days to cancel but they also give you the lights for you to pay an electrician to install. You cant find an electrician in 3 days. Over the phone they tell you that you can still cancel if you talk to two techs and have a 3rd come to your house to attempt to fix the problems and that is a lie. I spent hours with their technicians and when one attempted to transfer me to goggle, the goggle side of the house hung up. II did all I was told and they refused to honor that deal.To make matters worse, they put out a product that even their technicians have difficulty using. Why would you put a product on the market when it hasnt been perfected. That spells greed to me.Please do not use them - it will only cost you money when the *** is worth millions - go figure.

      I called ADT customer service on April 6 and gave them notice that I sold my property and moved out in May. I did not have an annual contract with ADT. They continue to bill me and call me and harass me. I have called customer service 8 times and was told they will take care of everything but I continue to get billed.I was a customer with ******** ********************** for over 15 years until ADT took over the account and had very bad customer service.

      ADT is the WORST security business I have ever dealt with. I was offered a "free" upgrade for my mother's security system in December 2023. As she was in the beginning stage of dementia, we thought it prudent to transfer the account to my name. Monthly automatic payments of $84.37 were to stop on her card and automatic payments were to start on my card for $35.47 beginning in January 2024. I got a bill in January for $390 for the upgrade; I complained to the representative I'd dealt with, and he said it would be corrected. I then received an updated bill for $90 which I paid just to be done with it. For the next six months both cards were billed for the subscription, and when I called to have that corrected, I was either (a) routed to several representatives and disconnected, (b) told that my mother's account and/or my account didn't exist, (c) when I finally got someone who seemed like they'd help, they said they couldn't credit the cards back but would have to send a check, and then when I told them the mailing address was wrong, they said I needed my mother's "safe word" which hadn't been used ever and which we had no record of. I am still waiting for satisfaction, and am forced to call weekly only to receive a different run-around and no refund. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
