We bought a car from this place and as we drove off the transmission was slipping. He said that he would take a look at it and the next day the car just stopped, and the transmission died. he told us he would help us, but he never did. I tried to get refunded from the Credit card company but because we bought car as-is they said there is nothing they can do about it. This guy completely ripped us off and I still don't have the car. He had it dropped off at a Transmision place and placed a warranty on it which doesn't cover anything.

I called many from The car guy to purchase 2011 jeep Wrangler $10424. I asked him if the car available he said yes, I called my bank for auto loan. My bank approved for $16500.00. 09/19/2023 I drove 26 miles from ***** to ********** to the dealership to see the vehicle, when I arrived I spoke to him about the vehicle he said the vehicle isn't here. ( I told him that "you said the vehicle was available") he told me that his current place kind of small he store the vehicles somewhere else, and it'll takes two days to bring the car over. I told him no I need a car today. I left with the bank check I went somewhere else I didn't like what they had. I called the car guy dealer back and told I'll wait for two days to bring the vehicle because I want to buy the vehicle, on 09/20/2023 he said to save vehicle for me I have to put a down payment. I said I have a Bank check he told cash over the phone he asked $2000 down payment. I ok I'll zelle to you but when I signed the check you have to give me back my $2000 he said " yes he'll give me back my deposit after deal, I said ok. On 09/20/2023 I zelle the car guy $1500, and next day on 09/21/2023 $500 an total of $2000.Now I'm waiting on the vehicle in two days five days later I called him and he never answered my calls I went there told him why he didn't answer my calls, and the vehicle still wasn't there, because he didn't have the check. So I signed the check and give it to him. I started working for FPL outage 12 hours 7days 6:00m to 6:00pm By the time I get off his closed, only thing I can do is call him but he never answered my calls, I have to used other people phone for him to answer I used four different people phone, that's when I realized I got scammed. After two to three weeks I cancelled the check and asked him for my deposit back. I called again and again no answer, I made other people set up appointment for me to see him, I went and i saw him I demand my money he tolt me it's a week process stl 0

We have all the supporting documents showing that ***************************** had filed a dispute twice and her money was refunded while she was driving our vehicle around for almost two months putting miles and keeping it in poor conditions. We had called her in to finalize this and she decided to neglect that she had ever done such a thing. The Law enforcements was involved and was shown the proof as ***************************** had tried forcing us to get the vehicle registered and title transferred thus trying to get away with a vehicle that is unpaid for. She was told by the local Authorities to leave the vehicle and to take her belongings also was told that she can take her vehicle but the only tender being accepted was cash or a cashiers check. She had texted with the owner back and forth while being patient and she decided to say she no longer wants the vehicle and wants her money back after she had been notified that ***************************** was in default for payment. If Proof is needed kindly reach out to the owner ********** to request.

      Customer response

      11/14/2023

First, this one is a lie
She was driving our vehicle around for almost two months putting miles and keeping it in poor condition.

The car was in poor condition.
      All sensors are not functioning.
And the side mirror, and gas cap were broken you gave the car without fixing. And you did not keep your promise of installing the new partsinstead you twisted the story.

2nd, this is a lie too.
We had called her in to finalize this and she decided to neglect that she had ever done such a thing.

I told you that the money is with your bank and they needed the proof of transaction for them to release it to you, but you neglect doing it. Your banks investigation went in favor of me. I have proof of this.

3rd, this is a BIG LIE.
The Law enforcements was involved and was shown the proof as ***************************** had tried forcing us to get the vehicle registered and title transferred thus trying to get away with a vehicle that is unpaid for.

You set me up. I went there in peace. You were the one who was forcing me to give you cash. You called the police on purpose twisting the story.
We never get to talk about the part about the registration and title. There was no force happened that day. That is a big lie. We talked only about the $2575 that you tried to scam me.

You promised to install the parts and I am going to pay the title. You said you prepared the title and registration so I went there. There was no force happened on that day.
I am a woman and not capable of forcing or manipulating things.
You neglect to provide the card company the documents that was why they refunded back the money to me.
I immediately contacted you to give you the money. You never called back and refused to answer my calls and textZ

      4. This is another lie.
decided to say she no longer wants the vehicle and wants her money back

The moment I got the refund. I called you. I said to finalize the transaction. I will pay the title and registration and give the 2575.
You said you will call me back and hang up on me.
      You never did reply back.
I have expressed I am getting the car and finishing the transaction and all you twisted the story again here.

      5. All written here are a big lie. Save me time huh.

      7. I have all the proofs of communicating my good faith and professional transaction with you.
This unfair business practices. Now you have taken my $2845 my money. This was all a big lie and an unfair tactic to get someones money.

      Complaint: 20756903

I am rejecting this response because of this statement:

"The Law enforcements was involved and was shown the proof as ***************************** had tried forcing us to get the vehicle registered and title transferred thus trying to get away with a vehicle that is unpaid for."

The authorities were there because he called and said that I was disturbing peace when I was explaining to him that I did not keep on requesting for a chargeback. I only requested once. I was the one whose peace was disturbed when he demanded cash when my money is still with his bank and saying that he will take his car. The police were there. We called **** of America dispute department, and they were able to listen to the conversation that the money was not in my bank anymore. It was with his bank.

"She was told by the local Authorities to leave the vehicle": Yes, this was said because that was a Saturday. As a respectful individual to an authority figure, I followed what they said, but I reject the statement saying I was told to leave the vehicle because of some "force". The authorities said that we have to wait Monday so that we can get the right answers from both banks. He diverted the story to me making a chargeback twice when his chargeback company sent him email twice requesting for the proof of transaction for them to release him the money. Why would I be paying cash when my money was still with his bank?

I kept on telling him and explaining to him that the money was with his bank, and he kept of saying to the police that I did a charge back twice when the email says that he needs to provide a proof of transaction. He failed to provide the proof of transaction. His card company and my card company did an arbitration on the matter. Their investigation went in favor of me.

When the money was given back to my account, I immediately called him back to close the transaction, he hanged up on me and never answered my calls, text, and email.

I refuse to accept this statement: "She had texted with the owner back and forth while being patient and she decided to say she no longer wants the vehicle and wants her money back after she had been notified that ***************************** was in default for payment.

I refuse to accept this statement because I have been in good faith since the very beginning. I gave him proof that the money was with his bank account. I have always been consistent with replying and expressing to close the transaction and all he has to do was not or reject my calls.

I have proof that he did not call me back after informing him that the money was sent back to me by his bank because chargeback company said that the case went in favor of the card holder which is me.

I want my money back. I left the car there to prove that I am respectful of the authorities. I did not force to get anything. I want everything to be resolved at that time like I said I was there to pay for the transfer of title fees and registration. He took the car because he said the title is still under his name which is really unfair.

My $2844 has to be refunded because this is an unfair business practice and consumed my time. Initially, in the transaction, he said, "I will save you time in processing and getting a car". I get emotional distress and lose my money. I told him let's finish the transaction because I was really having a hard time to get a response from him. My boyfriend died and I had a surgery. I went over there two weeks after my surgery because I needed to finalize the transaction for me to go to work conveniently and all he gave was a lot of inconvenience, unanswered calls, text, and email. Good thing that I was with a friend and gave me a ride back home.

I paid the car in full. The money was with his bank, but he failed to provide documentation. He did not provide the receipt for my cash payment. I requested him via email. No response was received.

I did not try to force to get the vehicle from him. I tried to close the transaction. I went over there to pay the registration and other fees. He was the one who demanded cash from or else he will take his car from me which I have fully paid for already.

He did not provide a proof of transaction to his card company.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

Here is the detail timing of what happened 08/13/23: I found the car listing on *********** and texted ******* (*****). We agreed on the price, he said the car is still in ***********, and he will receive the car on 08/15, detail it and by the end of the week, he will ship the car to *********, where I live.He sent me the bill of sale, and we paid $2900 for down payment through Zelle.08/15/23: I texted and called him all day for car update, he didn't pickup the calls nor did he reply to my texts. I started to check to his reviews online and found bad business reviews in google.com, bbb, and yelp.At that point we're thinking we got scammed. My wife called to dispute the $2900 transaction from Zelle through ***** Fargo. We also called ***** to see if we can get our money back.08/16/23: ***** replied to my text saying he was out all day on the 15th, he still waiting for the car and the car is on the way to him, he said he will receive it on the 16th or 17th.08/17/23: I texted him for the update and he said still waiting in route and he's in the office to receive it. 08/18/23: I lost my patience and asking to get my down payment back. He said the car is again in route from *********** to **********, and I should be patient. He sent me a screenshot of supposedly receipt for the dispatch he ordered to pickup the car, but the screenshot looks like a search result and not receipt. I confront that to him and no answer.08/19/23: no update 08/20/23: he said he has the car with him and he askedme to pay the rest of the balance. at this point I don't trust him anymore, and I asked him to give me assurance that he will ship the care to me with all the bad business reviews, I cannot trust this guy anymore and wants my $2900 back. He didn't reply my texts after I confronted him on the text that I can't do business with him.

We issued a check on March 24 for a deposit on a truck that was supposed to arrive from an auction. On March 27, we wrote a check for the balance of the truck. We were supposed to pick up the truck the following week. When we went to pick up the truck, we were told it had arrived damaged but they had another one for us. We declined the other truck. Since then, we have been calling regarding our refund. We keep being told that they are looking into it or that they will be issuing a check. It has been 4 months and we still have not received a refund.

On 06-17-23, I had an appt to see a car. I was not aware about an auction set up. That day $1300 was paid to secure it. After that, I was told about $300 auction fee that was NOT mentioned and waived because I refused to pay. I paid the rest of the money on 06-23-23, $3500 through my bank and $759 through CashApp, for a total of $5559. Was told the car was picked up on ***** and would be delivered the next day. 2 days later found out it had mechanical issues and was NEVER picked up, so I was promised another car. On ***** the driver backed out due to poor communication, so I went to get the car myself. The dealer that originally had the car, but sold it to this company sent screenshots to me showing that this one has issues too. I was told to email, requesting a refund on ***** which I did and was told that it would take 10 business days. 10 days later, NO REFUND, constantly being told that it is being reviewed. ***** rarely talks to you, ALWAYS wants to text which is cool because you can actually SEE his lies. I wish I would've done my homework and saw these reviews first... HE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND JAILED! I've missed work, received 2 write *** because of it. Missed my stepmom's funeral. Wasted money on rentals, ride share and gas for other people. This dude gets off on ruining people's lives. I wrecked my car and still have a lien, so he ran off with the money I had to have LOANED to me on top of the car payment I already have for a car that's totaled.
