We own an apartment in ********************** complex. Early May of 2024 we have a flooding incident in our apartment due to an upstairs neighbor. Due to this flooding accident our apartment needs to have mold remediation work done, plus replacing baseboard and drywall. Our insurance requires a letter from ************ commercial insurance company indicating drywall coverage to show if ************ will pay for our drywall replacement. We have been trying to obtain this letter from our homeowners' association as of 05/25. All parties HOA President, ************ ******************** and Citizens Insurance all direct me to ******************** I have spoken to ****, *************************, and ***************************** (Agent of record) and still unable to obtain a letter with drywall coverage under commercial insurance policy. Apartment repairs have begun and need this letter for All-State to pay for repairs. My mother in law suffers from severe asthma and has been hospitalized multiples time in the last 2 yrs thats why its important for us to obtain this letter so our home repairs can be paid for by our personal homeowners insurance.

In Jan of 2024, I was contacted by my, then, insurance agent ************************* with NSI Insurance Group LLC. She informed me that unless I purchased a flood insurance policy on my home, Citizens would cancel my policy. In Feb., she secured a policy (# ** ********** 00) with ******** group in the amount of $2105 Subsequently, I learned that the information ********** gave me was inaccurate. Citizens requires flood insurance on homes that have a dwelling coverage of over $600,000. My coverage is at $585,000. Since in neither wanted or needed this policy and purchased it under false pretenses, I moved to cancel it. I contacted *********. She told me that she could not cancel it and to contact ********. She also refused to contact ******** Group. When I asked her why, she stammered a bit and repeated herself. I pointed out that ** law with regard to cancellations and refunds requires that policy on these matters be disclosed at the time of sale. There was no disclosure , either verbal or written made by either NSI Insurance Group LLC or ******** Group. I feel that NSI Insurance Group LLC acted in a way that was deceitful, unethical and illegal. I would appreciate if you could look into this matter ********************* *******************************

Per the attachments, Mr. **** has a Citizens Insurance Policy with Dwelling coverage exceeding $600K which is the Citizens threshold for required Flood Insurance. The attachments also note the Non-Renewal Notice from Citizens for failure to have flood coverage. This has been explained to Mr. ****.

The Flood Policy is a requirement to maintain coverage with Citizens.

Please contact me with any questions.

      Thank-you,

On 03/27/2023 I contacted my Insurance Agency NSI Insurance Group located at ******************************************************************************, requesting that they email and provide to my accounts that require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) the documentation. Which they are aware needed to be done as they did the service the prior year. We have followed up daily and weekly on our request. This agency and agent are not providing the service. They are not responsive to any type of communication. If the communication is via phone, we are sent directly to the voicemail of which we do not get any response back, if the communication is via email they are ignored, and not responded to. Communication from this agent/agency is minimal and still unsuccessful on the request for the REQUIRED actions. As of the date of this complaint (04/17/2023), we received a PARTIAL Goodbye email. The reason for the Partial is because of their LACK of job performance on our account we have with this agent/agency. Their behavior is a direct reaction to our reassigning our other coverages with another agency/agent. This agency has opted to be unprofessional and conduct business in a malicious manner that has directly impacted our business financially. This agency/agent and all Insurance agencies/agents are aware that COI can ONLY be provided to the certificate holder directly from the agent/agency.

We acknowledge that the client had issues with certificates that were uploaded to third party sites that did not meet the insurance requirements on file.  This was partially due to renewal certificates could not include Excess Liability as the renewal had not been completed.  We did renew the Business Auto certificates and provided those to the appropriate sites.  We explained to the client that we were still in the process of marketing their Excess Liability polices since the incumbent carrier had non renewed the policy and would not be offering a renewal.

On 4/13/23, we asked the client to detail any additoinal certificates they needed from us for their expiring term and their current Auto Term.

On 4/13/23, the insured notified ** that they would be going with another carrier for the General Liablity and Excess policies.  Their exact words were:

You can stop looking for insurance (GL and EL).  Unfortunately,  I am going to close with another company. I found another option that will be a better fit and faster binding or coverage for me. I truly appreciate all your efforts. However, until today no quote or proposal was sent from NSI. However, please do keep us on your list for next year to send us a quote/proposal. I will need the Automobility Certificates issued as fast as possible and copies forwarded to me.  Thanks again for your help and partnership.
      Best regards,
      ***********************

Upon receipt of this email, we stopped our efforts to secure coverage and sent our standard expiration notice on 4/17 to confirm that we were no longer on risk and that their coverage was expiring on 4/17.  This action was driven by the client's notification that they had placed coverage with another agent.  This is our standard practice to make sure that we are all on the same page about coverage and who is handling future policies.

In ********** Management system we actively show communication with the client, with the third party certificate sights and with the markets we were accessing to finalize their General Liabiliy and Excess renewal.  Unfortunately, if we have not placed a policy, we cannot issue evidence of insurance and at times, may have to contact the carrier to make changes or approve wording that need to be added to certificates. This is also standard practice in the insurance industry.

We feel we communicate with the client at all times and have addressed any delays or questions regarding certificates.  There was never any malice or unprofessional behavior.  Given that we are still the agent on their Automobile policy, we will continue to provide professional service to this client and hope that we can win their business again for the upcoming year.
