Absolutely terrible! I purchased a commercial quality desk for over $1000. I unloaded the desk and what I assume is the top looked like it was bent. I opened the cardboard just enough to see the condition and there were 2 huge cracks across the whole piece. It was so severe that the Styrofoam packing was stuck in the crack. For 3 1/2 weeks all I get is automated replies. I sent them pictures of the damage in the beginning and now they lost them and want them again. They are also asking for part numbers which I have no idea. I have a bad feeling I just paid $1000 for fire *********** learned... purchase a desk from an actual office furniture store not a big box store.Review from Judy R

I handle an online merchandise store for a band. Ive bought supplies from Office Depot for years. I quit buying paper, binders, ink and basic office supplies about 7 years ago. Other stores are much cheaper, and the products are much higher quality. I quit buying the ***** Address and Shipping labels about 2 years ago as the Office Depot price had increased and wasnt competitive anymore. Last year I only bought #0 Bubble Mailers and #6 envelopes. I ordered the same Office Depot Item Numbers for the #0 Bubble Mailers and #6 envelopes online in April 2024. When I got them neither item was the same as 2023. The #0 Bubble Mailer was normally 6.75 in x *****, but the new #0 showed 6 in x 9 in on the box. The 6 in x 9 in was the outside dimensions of the mailer, but the usable space was very tight to get 1 CD inside let alone a DVD. I could get 2 CDs or 1 each CD and DVD in the older mailers. The #6 envelopes with the same item number as 2023 were of a much lower quality. They were thinner and the adhesive strip was smaller and didnt go the edges as before. I have to use tape to make sure the envelopes dont open in transit. This will be my last purchase at Office Depot.Office Depot, Inc. Response

On or about June 14,2024 I took my memory stick to Office Depot at ***************************************************************** to have divorce documents printed. A week later I needed the memory stick for another project and realized that the employee at Office Depot that printed my documents did not return my memory stick to me. This is the second time that this happened to me at this store, there will not be a third, you lost my business. The young female manage told me that someone had accidently wiped the documents on my drive by accident when they were given my memory stick and not there's. Long story short I asked the female manage of the printing station to dump the box of memory sticks that they had which had not been returned to customers. The manager to her credit did find my memory stick and the documents where still on it.I had a real problem with the fact that the young female manager kept saying im not happy with your tone lower your voice. She kept trying to make the incident about me and my attitude instead of her and her employing not returning thumb drives to their customers. You sell thumb drives so it is in your best interest not to return them to the customers so that they are forced to purchase a new one. Your manage owes me an appology! Yes, I raised my voice and had an attitude! I offer no appology for my behavior which was appropriate for the situation. I want Office Depot to give back the memory sticks that they take from their customers. I want an appology from the print manager and her employee's.Office Depot, Inc. Response

Probably the worst company I have had to deal with. I purchased a trial $49 Business Select account. I called to cancel and was told I would get my refund in short time. I waited a month and called a second time and this time was given a cancellation number and was told I would be receiving my refund shortly. Now after five weeks I just now called and was told my account was in fact cancelled but my refund was not sent. They issued me yet another cancellation number and I was told another person will be calling me within ***** hours to give me some type of details regarding my $49. I was also told to hold on the line to give feedback regarding the customer service I just received. Guess what? After I waited a minute it hung up. Big surprise! What a ridiculous excuse for a company. They are off my list.Office Depot, Inc. Response

On Feb 28, 2024 I purchased 2 office chairs from store 594. I was talked into signing up for the business select membership. The manager at the store stated that I could cancel before the 30 days and will not get charged. I cancelled via my online account two weeks later. WARNING, THEY DO NOT GIVE YOU A CONFIRMATON WHEN YOU CANCEL ON YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT. The website takes the membership off of the page and you can no longer see it until you are charged. My card was charged on March 28 at 10:30pm. I called the customer service that evening, she confirmed my account was cancelled and told me I would get a refund within *************************************************************************************************************************************************** the system and my ticket was cancelled. She told me that she would re-establish my ticket and escalate it. She also stated I would a refund. I called the store where I signed up and spoke to a assistant manager who stated to me he was not trying to blow me off but that he nor his general manager could not do anything about it. So they can sign you up but they cannot help you cancel. On April 2, I received an email confirming the cancellation of my membership. It has been over a month and I never received the refund. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY MEMBERSHIPS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.Office Depot, Inc. Response

I would never order anything from this company again. I ordered ink and stamps an got a conformation email. The ink was $58.99 with $3,81 in rewards applied and with tax of $3.24 the total is $58.42. The stamps were $73.00. When checking my bank account they took out $73.00, $58.42 and $62.23. The $62.23 is without the rewards. I called to have the $62.23 back in my account. They said it would take 3 days, I said it was unacceptiable. You took it out in 1 day and want 3 days to put it back. So the next day all 3 charges were taken off . Now a few days later they take out the $62.23 again but not the other two that they should have. So I called in again and now told it would take 5 days to pt the money back into my account. Again they take it out in one day and keep it for 5 days before giving it back. So I would very much recomend everyone to NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY AS THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE COSTOMER.Office Depot, Inc. Response

On 03/28/24, I purchased a printer in the store. Against my better judgment, I was talked into signing up for a Business Select membership to get $10 off the printer. I was told I could just cancel it during the 30 day free trial, which I did online a couple of days after my purchase. Thirty days later, on 04/28/24, my checking account was charged $49 for the annual fee. Today, I called Office Depot customer service and spoke with someone, who then transferred me to someone else. After being placed on hold again, I was told someone will call me back in 24 to 48 hours. I have no idea if anyone will call me. Because of this $49 charge, I will not have enough money in my checking account for my automatic rent payment on May 1. I am very angry about this hardship that I believe was intentionally caused by Office Depot when they didnt honor my previous cancellation in March. And now they are making it difficult to get the fraudulent fee credited back to my account.Office Depot, Inc. Response

On Sunday April 7th, 2024 I made an online desk purchase in the outrageous amount of $1322.00, this includes shipping. The estimated shipping date was April 10, 2024...on the Tuesday the 9th I noticed the package was sitting by my garage...I was happy to see it arrived a day early.As my family and I were beginning to unbox the desk we noticed a bunch of dirt spilling out from the bottom of the frayed cardboard box (the desk was on a pallet). As we proceeded to slid the box from the pallet, we noticed that the bottom cardboard protection was badly damaged in several places...as we looked under the bottom side of the box, to our amazement was nothing but shredded cardboard and what looked like rust and dirty debris caked on the bottom side of the product. It looked as if someone tried to scoop-up the box with a forklift (damaging the protective cardboard and them placed it in a puddle of water out in the parking lot...that would explain the rust on the metal bottom of the product. I immediately called the local store to complain and find a solution...like have them bring me an undamaged product and pickup the other one...well, they have to do things the hard way and make life miserable for their customers. I they said I would have to submit a return and wait until it was refunded then I could try again. I submitted the return and was told by two different Office Depot Reps. that someone would be out to pick up the desk on Thursday...I took a day off of work to comply with this return and NO ONE SHOWED UP OR CALLED! After calling in a third time, *******. told me that they are not allowed to call the warehouse to inquire about shipping...I now know the other rep. simply lied to get me off the phone and onto the next call. Now they want me to either miss a 2nd day of work or leave the box outside (not a good idea these days).Office Depot is totally lacking in responsibility and simply leaves their customers to clean up their messes and doesn't even offer to help!Office Depot, Inc. I signed up for a 30-day free trial of the Business Select Program during a store visit and was told I could cancel during that period without a fee. I went to the website and cancelled a week or two later, but was still charged $49.99 at the end of the 30 days. I called the phone number on the emailed receipt and was put on hold for 32 minutes, then told by a recording to enter a "mailbox number". When I couldn't enter one, the line was disconnected. I found a different phone number online and have now been on the line for 72 minutes trying to get this resolved. After about 31 minutes, I spoke with an agent who took my info, put me on hold again, came back and said she needed to reach out to someone else. I asked if it would be another half hour wait and she said no, but that's what's happened. I'm writing this review while still on hold with the clock still ticking. This seems to be a SCAM. By purposely making it this difficult to cancel, people give up and Office Depot/Office Max keeps the money. BBB, please do something to help consumers stay away from this program and this company! Purchased a desk on 2/16/24 and when it arrived it was damaged and missing one of the set of drawers, called and asked for replacement they said they would take care of it here we are on 3/15/24 and nothing has been done they have been promising that the damaged desk will be picked up since 3/7/24 nope still here, and they will not issue refund until the desk is picked up. After numerous calls and chats about the situation and no resolution will go elsewhere to find the desk.Office Depot, Inc. Response
