On March 27th 2023, a notice went out about smoking occurring in my building. Initially, I thought the burning smell was the fuse that went out in my air conditioner unit around Easter weekend. Outside of that, I thought I was going through allergy season. Once June hit and I was still having symptoms I could not explain , I started paying attention and caught on to my symptoms relating to second hand smoke. The smell got stronger and more noticeable during the weekends. During the week, I noticed due to waking up EVERY morning with red, dry, glassy eyes and my throat hurting when I swallow in the morning.I have no idea how the act is occurring or who is doing it but it is a fact. The office has offered to come inspect the unit during business hours but it does not happen during that time. They have also walked around during business hours but it does not happen at that time so it continues. I even offered the office staff to come see my eyes at 6:30 am during the week when I awake if need be to prove my case. At this point, my health is THE ONLY concern. If no one else snells it fine but I have documented allergies and respiratory issues. I cannot live in a smoking environment. I cannot wait to have a health issue to prove a point because of greed. The company does have and support a no smoking policy within 25ft of the premiss but I cannot be held hostage to a lease or unit and expected to pay if I leave because they dont smell smoke on their time or really dont care. Who is going to smoke during business hours when they know its being investigated because notices are being sent out and being that it cannot be pinpointed a habitual smoker will continue the act. My expires March ****. I cannot deal with this daily until then.The company suggested a courtesy officer call we are past that.
