My name is ******* *******. I am the house manager at the property 140 Mahogany Dr in Naples FloRIDA. I Contacted Manny home Services to hang 2 hammocks in one of there rooms. He order the parts he needed, I gave him a check as payment for it for the amount of $196.52 on April 11th. That day he drilled a hole in the ceiling to make sure it had woot studs to properly hang the product. He said he would patch the hole on a later day that week since he didn't bring all the materials he needed to do so. Two days after I sent him a txt message asking when would he come back to patch the hole, and he didn't answer ( April 13th) . A week later ( April 21st) I told him I was concerned about the safety of the job and the owners were not sure to continue with the project so I asked him to come back, patch the hole and returned the items he ordered through amazon and return of course the money we paid for it. For several days I tried to contact Mr. Manuel by phone and txt messages, he finally responded on May 3rd saying that he was too busy and that because of the timing he wasn't able to return the items. I kindly told him that I have been trying to reach out to him several times. He didn't answer back. After that I tried calling him again several times and he didn't answer the phone until I called him from a different phone number. His response was he was sorry and that he would refund the money to us. Unfortunately that never happened and he has not responded to my calls or txt anymore. By the way, I had to fix the hole he made on the ceiling. The only thing Im requesting is the refund of $196.52 and I will give him back the items/materials that were ordered by him to do the job and were never used.

      Business response

      06/15/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/31) */ Good afternoon, My name is Manuel S*****, and I'm the owner of Manny Home Services. I was contacted by Mrs. ******* to install two hammocks. On May 31, my assistant and I spent half of the workday inspecting the job and giving Mrs. ******* an estimate of the cost. After agreeing to the estimate, Mrs. ******* asked me to buy the products thru Amazon for her. Effectively, I bought all the materials needed for the job and sent her a photo of the receipt. Once the products arrived, I took them to the customer's house and proceeded to do the work test. To execute the works test, I opened a hole the size of a nail (2.5 inches) to get in a camera and inspect the area. As there was no option to get into the attic house, as Mrs.******* claimed previously, it was done this way. Then, I explained to her the whole job process. She decided to wait until the summer to start, as the house owners would leave by then. As she noticed me about this decision, I asked her if she wanted me to leave the materials or if she wanted me to return them to Amazon. She answered that she would keep them, so she gave me a check for the total price of the materials. Days after, she communicated with me, saying that she would no longer want to execute the job and wanted me to return the material to Amazon. Unfortunately, I was out of the city performing another job during those days, unable to go to the house and pick up the materials. As a company, I wanted to help the customer, but the Amazon return policy had expired once I was back in the city. Mrs. ******* is now complaining about the materials bought thru Amazon, pointing them out as my responsibility. However, when I left the owner's house, knowing that the job won't be happening until summer, I asked her about taking back the materials, but she decided to keep them and pay for them. In addition, nothing else was charged to her, not even the two days I went to the house to do the inspection and the work test. I feel it important to point out that I did not charge for my assistant's and my own time or any extra materials used on both occasions. Thank you for your attention!
