Some of the ground under the lanai area of my home **** ***** *** ******* ** has settled, causing the concrete to be lower than ideal. Last December '21 Mike (the owner) of CSI Concrete quoted a price to raise/restore the concrete around the pool to its original height or a visually pronounced improvement, $2500. I was told his company's performed hundreds of jobs like mine which he does with an associate and he was sure I'd be pleased with the results. January 11, 2022 Mike shows up with associate to blow styrofoam like material under the concrete and charged me $2500. After an hour Mike successfully raised 25% of the concrete but stopped because the concrete was cracking. It was cracking because the styrofoam was being injected under a lot of pressure and the concrete wouldn't lift evenly. Mike promises to finish the job but is busy with other work. On January 12th - the day after Mike fixed the concrete- the pool started to leak. The concrete area next to the pool where Mike had injected styrofoam the upward pressure caused a PVC pool pipe to crack and leak was born. I informed Mike of the leak and the cracked concrete and was told his company couldn't do the work. The cause of the leak was verified & repaired by Accurate Leak Detection on February 10, 2022 at the cost of $1200.

      Business response

      03/10/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/22) */ End of Dec 2021 John called me to look at his deteriorating pool deck for solutions to make it nice again. I went and found that the deck needs some work, but the deck has already sunk about up to 2 inches alongside the house and on the front end and right side of the pool up to 1 inch. John ask about the fix procedure and wanted me to come back and drill test holes and explain the procedure further more another day. I did a few days later test hole to determine the damage (hollowness) under the concrete., and explained again how it work. We have measured between 4- and 16-inches hollowness in those areas. The quote was appr. 80-100 lbs foam plus the charge for the rig and 2 technicians. The estimate was around 2500 dollar if we don't go over 125 lbs. He hired me to do the job. On the 11 of January, we came early in the morning and started the work. We lifted successfully all the areas in front of the house (by the deco drain) and adjacent to the pool deck coping. We could not lift but stabilized the 5 foot section on the right side because of cracking and a bad concrete repair next to it. We stopped and advised john of the situation of further cracking and buckling concrete and he was fine with it. We were done by around 1 PM and john paid us the estimated sum and thanked us for the work. The following day he called me to fill the drill holes because he couldn't do it himself which he offered. I came back on the 13th of January and filled the holes. He asks me if we can try and get the in-question area further up. I told him we can try free of charge but advised against it and due to out of town work for 3-4 weeks we were not yet be able to come that quickly. No leak on that day. In the time from the 13th of January to Feb 3rd, 2022 john called and texted a few times for updates on timing. On the 4th of February he left a voice message that he discovered a pool leak most likely caused by the foam according to him. He asks if we can help fixing it and do the work. We don't do that kind of work. All those dates are backed up by txt and voice mail from him. We are able and willing to further work with John or find a solution. But he needs to communicate with me to set up a time and date for doing it or tell me what he wants. Tried to call him Saturday, Monday and today without a response.
