I purchased an Advanced Hurricane Technology (AHT) Screen (manufacturer) from Certified Window Fashions (CWF) on 2/3/23. The order number is ***** It was installed 04/26/23. The installer was Christian, Cat Five Protection (CFP). It worked for about 12 cycles then it jammed when my home watch person attempted to use it. I was out of town. Tom (CWF) sent Christian to look at it. He said that it was operator error as he assumed the screen was brought down on a chair. He quoted $1765.50 to replace the motor and the lower bar that the warranty would not cover. I inspected the screen when I returned home and found that the side rail was not installed vertical. I had both Tom and Christian come to look at it. It was a very unpleasant discuss with Christian calling me a liar about this supposed chair. He did admit that the chair was a supposition. A factory representative, Frank B. came to the house and confirmed that the side rail was not vertical per the instructions. He said the motor and bar where fine. Despite all the facts Tom then sent me quote for $1,198.4 to replace the lower bar?? but not to fix the side rail. I attempted to explain to Tom the science behind why the rail had to vertical, but he could not understand it. I had someone else fix only the side rail. The screen is working correctly, but now the fabric of the screen is stretched/damaged due to the jam, I spent money getting it fixed and the warranty is worthless. The installer told me that he always installs screens this way (not vertical) as they “look better”. If that is true, then I am concerned that this is happening to other people, and he is charging them to fix his mistakes. Another question is the contractor’s license ************ that I was given is in the name of Top Glass Solutions. Cat Five Protection did the installation and they do not appear to have any business relationship to Top Glass. See attached supporting Documents:
