I went to the hospital with a horrible cough and swollen throat and given Prednisone instead of an antibiotic to take for 3 days. I told the doctor I never been given that medication before. I got worse, so I called and was told I'd have to pay the ** again because even tho I had X-rays she said that in 3 days something entirely different could have happened. So despite no pneumonia and no other cancer or anything on my xray- in 3 days she told me those things can suddenly appear. She lied to get more money from people who shouldn't have to pay twice due to a misdiagnosis. I should have been given an antibiotic from day 1. So I am disturbing my original bill.

I am reaching out to get assistance with an issue that has been going on for almost 2 years. During a family vacation in March 2022, we had to bring in my daughter (*******************************) to the emergency room at HCA Blake Hospital. We provided our insurance card at the time of our visit. We have been trying to get my daughter's visit to go through insurance since then. My husband and I have talked with multiple customer service people, as we keep getting bills and the service has not CORRECTLY been sent to insurance. We have provided our insurance information over the phone many times to different customer service representatives. The claim to be entering notes about our situation to make it clear that things are not being entered correctly. In a more recent correspondence/phone call, we were told to that they contacted our insurance and my daughter was not eligible at the time of service. This simply isn't true (I did confirm eligibilitywith my insurance. Also, the other 2 bills we received for that visit were already ran through insuranceand paid a long time ago.). Instead, HCA Blake must be submitting something wrong, and not even attempting to use the contact information we provided to resolve this with my insurance.

My spouse had been going to Blake Hospital Outpatient for a paracentesis every month since August 2021. At most appointments we were offered 20% discount if we paid a the time of service. Recently I started getting calls from *************** stating we had a balance due from services on January 5, 2022. I was surprised at this because we never received a neither a paper bill or email bill for these services. I called Blake for information but they stated the account had been turned over to Medicredit. I called Medicredit and asked them to send me the original bill from Blake but all they can send me is the Medicredit statement. On the Medicredit statement the address they stated they had been sending statements to is incorrect. Why this should be is incomprehensible to me since we had been going to Blake for months and never had trouble with receiving mail or emails from Blake prior to this. I am not disputing that the services occurred nor do I have any issue with the procedure done, we are very happy with the *********************************** at Blake (not so much with their emergency services). I am upset that this matter went to collection without proper billing practices followed or sufficient follow-up. There is some disconnect with the billing services and sending patients to collection is upsetting to those who normally pay all their bills on time.
