            Griggs wanted to charge me $1600.00 for a repair I had fixed for $101.00

            We were called to look at a repair of 2 shower valves. Upon review they were old tub and shower valves we recommended to replace the original valves with new Moen posi-temp valves as this is better to repair in future for parts on hand. Our suppliers did not have the mix-it brand trim kits available to repair existing valves. The new Moen valve would insure proper pressure balancing and anti scald as required especially since this is a rental property. We gave a verbal quote of around $1200-$1600 to replace 2 valves in the wall. The owner declined and we left. Nothing has been charged to owner or paid by him.

            I bought the parts for $91.49 retail. They can Buy them wholesale for less. The Technician Quoted me $1600 I Hung up on him. My Tenant Over Heard the conversation the Technician had with his office. The Technician said that I Hung up on him and he's Sure I wouldn't Pay $1200. I have had these valves fixed for years. They don't need to be replaced unless you just want to RIP someone OFF. My maintenance Man who is a Tree Trimmer by Day was busy is why I called Griggs. He installed the inserts in less than an hour. A Plumber would do it in 30minutes. It's amazing when I wouldn't pay $1600 that they could do it for $1200.

            Again, we were called for 2 shower valve repairs. The quote which tech gave of 1600 was high he does not usually get involved in giving quotes. When he called the office, he was told that's a little high it's usually around $600 per valve replacement. Which there were 2 to replace which is why it was around $1200. If you could have waited we could have ordered a rebuild kit from supply house. ( Our suppliers had 0 in stock) and moen is a better valve than mix-it. Lifetime warranty on parts, and easier to get parts. When we arrived it was not operable since someone else had it rigged with wrong parts before we arrived at property. Also the tree trimmer is not licensed and insured where as when/ and if the valve fails he is held liable. If you had parts at the property we would have been more than happy to install them for you. Since you hung up on tech we walked away. And again nothing was charged or paid. Don't know how we rip people off when we did not charge anything and did not get paid for showing up on your property. Again price was for 2 valves to replace. With moen positemp valves and trim kits and installation. Our supply houses where we get our material did not have any of the mix-it valves rebuild kits in stock. Again we recommended they be replaced. If you could have had a conversation rather than hang up we could have done what you wanted and ordered parts or you could have gotten your own and us install them.

            I don't know how many times Griggs can LIE. They are good at it. They tried to get $1600 and when I wouldn't do it they went for $1200. I'm sure the Technician is on commission so the More he can charge the more he makes. It's bad when a company Quotes you a price and when you say no they immediately come down $400. The parts are readily available and never informed me I could wait for them to get them. I'm in the Rental business and since calling Griggs I have spoken to some of my Rental friends about them and tell me some Horrid stories about Griggs trying to Rip them off. I can only imagine what Griggs does to the Elderly that don't know the Difference.

            Hello, no our plumbers are not on commission. Again he does not get involved with giving quotes. He called the office and I told him the price it usually runs around. which would be the $1200 for 2 valves and trim replaced in the wall. We could not inform you of the parts or discuss further options as you hung up on our plumber. Yes we probably should have had the office call you to further discuss, and that is our fault for not following up. I apologize for that. You purchased the parts from another plumbing company that happened to have them in stock on their shelves. We checked our suppliers and they did not. With the current status of shipping and getting material it can be difficult. We do not purchase parts from other plumbing companies. We gave our recommendation on replacing the 2 said valves with a better product. You disagreed to do it, We strive to provide good work,in a friendly timely manner at affordable rates. I apologize you do not agree with that.

            We could back and forth forever. Ryan has LYING down to an ART. The whole thing is When Griggs Plumbing tried to Rip me off for $1600 and that didn't work they went for $1200. If the Technician isn't on commission then they are doing a good job of Stealing for Ryan. I'm a Veteran and I contacted channel 8. They are going to run an Episode on Companies that Rip Off Veterans and the Elderly. Griggs Plumbing is going to be one of those Companies. I used to do a lot of business with Ryan's Dad and he was a Very Honest Man. It's too Bad Ryan didn't learn from Him. Actually I guess Ryan did me a favor. I would of been willing to pay $300 for a job Griggs could of done for $50 in parts and about 30 minutes in labor. I got it done for $100. I sleep very well at night. I'm not quite sure how Ryan Sleeps.
