On 06/22/23 Florida State ********************************************* began the tear off our old roof and completed placing new underlayment on our roof. On 7/12/23 the new roof tile were delivered. On 7/26/23 a crew of three began work on laying the new tiles. From the very start the roof tiles were installed improperly with little to no supervision. After continued communication with the owner, through emailed pictures, texts and phone calls in regard to the problems with installation we finally on 09/11/23 hired our own licensed inspector. ************************** in business for 23 years and was referred to us by another roofing company.. We then sent a copies of the report to the owner of FSR&C on 09/12/23. He responded on 09/14/23 that he had "briefly read the report, it seems realistic". Our private roof inspector ***************************** from ************************** took *********************************** the report says it all. "The roof system in whole was not installed properly and is in need of major repairs at the existing stage of installation. 13 major deficiencies are outlined & referenced to our contract in the inspection report. We shared 70 pictures from the inspectors report with the FSR&C. Three extra pallets of tile and 90 extra ridge tile had to be ordered over the course of this job. All the ridge tiles and valleys were installed not according code & the manufacturing guidelines for installation. As of Monday 10/9/23 the owner of FSR&C said he would try to get out this week but it was going to rain Wed, Thurs. & Friday. No work has been done on our roof since 09/4/23. We are told to be patient,. It has now been 16 weeks. We are not confident at this point that any of his crews are able to make the necessary correction to the damage they have done to our roof . The Owner keeps delaying & will not give us a definite date his crew will come out to do work.

We are certain you can contact them about closing this complaint. There are still a few little issues we are taking care of this weekend. Our customer let us know they would be satisfied with that.

Yes, now Florida State Roofing is working to address all the many issues with our new roof installation, but it has taken well over 4 months, an inspection report and filing a complaint with the BBB. On 10/10/23, I filed a complaint with BBB and FSR&C was notified on 10/12/23 and again on 10/23/23 per my phone conversation with the BBB on Monday, 10/30/23. On 10/18/23, eight days after I file the BBB complaint, a new crew did arrive at our home and began four & days of major repair work on our newly installed roof. The last date any workers worked on our roof prior to the BBB complaint was 09/04/23. We could see at the very beginning of our roof Tile installation our roof did not look right.  Vertical lines in the front middle section were five to six inches off from the top and bottom section.Ridge tiles improperly installed curved and not straight. You didnt need to be a retired Engineer to see the roof as a whole was a mess. We decide to hire an independent license ********************** inspector consulting firm to inspect our roof and give us a report as to the issues, since we had little resolve, only promises, from ***** except to make fun of ****** Engineering background and told us we were too picky and couldnt be pleased.  The inspection report was given to ***** at FSR&C on 09/12/23. The inspection report included over 100 pictures of issues at roof top level.  Today they finished our roof on 11/4/23.  We are asking FSR&C for the final release of lien from their supplier GulfEagle at the same time we hand them the final check which is 20%. They wanted us to email them a copy or our check then they would work on getting the release. This is a security risk. The total cost of our new roof is $71,128.57. Our total out of pocket costs for independent roof inspections $1,375.00. The total cost to our health from sleepless nights and anxiety, priceless. This will not be acceptable until the exchange of final release of lien from GulfEagle the supplier and our check.

I am rejecting this response because: At this point 11/11/23 all of the major repair work to our newly installed roof has been done. We are hoping we have no leaks in our roof since it has not rained since the major repair work was completed. We hope we can end our relationship with this company next week. Any minor issues with our roof will be addressed by us. This has been a very bad experience and very stressful.

      Sincerely,

Florida State ********************************************* (or the company they subcontracted to deliver the metal roof panels) damaged our driveway: cracks and spalled concrete. One of our drain pipes also got damaged during the reroofing: it's squashed close and as such cannot drain water. We've asked several times but they refuse to do anything. They have also failed to provide their insurance info. Please provide your insurance information so we can contact them to file a claim.

The driveway is not our responsibility because Sunshine metal and Mirisol solar were also there. The gutter needs to be reset by a gutter company It was hanging down when we started the job. We have fulfilled the scope of our contract.

      Complaint: 18528089

I am rejecting this response because the answer is not truthful:

"The driveway is not our responsibility because Sunshine metal and Mirisol solar were also there."

      That is not correct:

      - The solar company Mirasol has not been there yet, our solar project is scheduled but has not yet started.

      - The roofing supplier Sunshine is your subcontractor, as such you're responsible.  If you can prove it was them I assume you can recover the cost from them.  As you know we don't have any contract with them.

"It was hanging down when we started the job"

That's not correct and not the main issue.  The main problem is that the pipe is squashed so it cannot evacuate water.  We have pictures is was not squashed before you put it back, you know that.  You removed it to reroof, as such it's your responsibility to make sure it doesn't get damaged during the reroofing.

We don't accept this response because the facts they use are incorrect (we have provided the proof before), they are just intended to dodge their responsibility.

As such we repeat our request for the insurance information so we can file a claim.

We did not break his driveway. We did a great job and he is unreasonable. We will not be blamed for his driveway. Numerous trades were there. The gutter company of his choice should be called out. The gutter was bent already. We do not crush gutters.

Florida State ********************************************* (FSR&C) has been working for more than 5 weeks on re-roofing our house:- The first week after the hurricane the roofers hardly showed up. We understand many houses needed work done to prevent further damage. We didnt complain about that.- After that week, the roofers kept on hardly showing up. About a week later they stopped showing up at all They also didnt leave our roof in a proper condition, when we had the first shower water started gushing through the vent in on of the bath rooms.- The next Monday FSR&C told us the roofers were on their way to address the leak, they never showed up. When we asked Tuesday morning for an update, they stalled. At noon they told us the had fixed it during the morning. That not true, nobody came, we pointed that out to them... Eventually they fixed it in the afternoon - They claimed they stopped coming because they could not continue until the work on the pool cage was finalized. However most of the roof that still had to finished was not affected by the pool cage work. This was implicitly confirmed by FSR&C because after insisting for a few days the did send a small crew to continue for a day. They also never informed us the cage work needed to be done to finalize the roof, this does not make any sense as the roof goes under the cage.- When the cage work was finalized FSR&C did not continue for another 4 days. When asking for an explanation they did not provide one.- Since the finalization of the cage work we have asked FSR&C 4 times to provide a planning, they never provided one. After insisting, they promised it would be done in 6 days.- Those 6 days have now passed, the roof is still not done. They only showed up 2 of those 6 days. No explanation...FSR&C knows we have to postpone our solar project because they failed to complete the roof on time. We would like to get a planning from them, and then see them finalize the roof according to that planning.

We had a hurricane. We went out and secured the panels before the storm. He was complaining the whole time. We were responsible for the hurricane coming and interrupting his roofing job. The amount of water that got in in was small due to the hurricane .We had to wait on the cage company to re-attach the cage.  We lost power at our office and were on a generator for 6 days. The man is living in fantasy world. We know the ************* and he has not scheduled because we are finishing the roof. He contracted with the pool cage company ,so I guess he did not know they did not want to come and reinstall his cage. They did not want to do it and we begged then to please do this for us. They do not walk on metal roofing material so we could not finish until they came out. Again, he contracted with the cage company but could not bother to pick up the phone and talk to them. I know they lost power for 7 days. This man likes to email and will not talk on the phone. Very hard to deal with. He has a great roof and it will be finished soon. ***************************

We reject the answer because it's not truthful and does not provide the timeline we asked:

      "We had a hurricane. "
      Yes,on Sept. 28.

"He was complaining the whole time."
This is not correct, the first time we 'complained' was Oct 15. So we gave you (FSR&C)more than two weeks (17 days) to overcome the difficulties caused by the hurricane. Although you hardly showed up we did not contact you or complain. After that, we insisted on having a timeline for finishing the roof. However, despite asking several times you never gave us one.

"We know the ************* and he has not scheduled because we are finishing the roof."
This is not correct. Our solar project was scheduled for Oct 19 (we added the proof in attachment), we had to cancel because the roof was not done. We have not been able to reschedule because you refuse to provide a timeline for finishing the roof.

"He contracted with the pool cage company ,so I guess he did not know they did not want to come and reinstall his cage."
We signed a contract with the cage company on Sept 22. The cage company never gave us any indication they would not do the work. FSR&C never provided anything to justify their claim, as far as we can tell, this is a baseless claim.

"The man is living in fantasy world."
This is a typical example of how this company will treat you if ask them a critical question: they will either not answer your question or become rude.

      "it will be finished soon."
That's the vagueness we've been getting from this company. I don't understand how it's possible that with 95% of the roof done they can still not give an actual date of completion. We've been hearing 'soon' for more than two weeks now...

Please stop pretending you're not able to finish our roof because we had a hurricane. We see your workers starting new roof project on various locations in the neighborhood. Just like with out, they start the project and then move on to the next site before the roof is done.

As I still haven't received any answer, I can only repeat my questions:can you please provide a timeline for finishing our roof, 'soon' is a meaningless answer.

The week of March 2, 2022 this company began to replace my roof. I paid them $21,650.00. For this amount they agreed to replace the roof and the wood fascia. The men who replaced my roof had to remove part of the soffit in order to replace the fascia. We said that was fine because we eventually will have to replace it. The men then took it upon themselves to rip many areas of the soffit off and left it all hanging. The roof looked worst then what it was. They were suppose to come back and clean it up and didn't. I called the office to complain about all of this and spoke to Deena and she was very rude and said that I needed to speak with Adam. I have called and asked to speak to Chuck who is supposedly the owner and Deena always says he is not available. I had already spoke to Adam and he kept telling me that his guys were told that we were replacing the soffit and that they could remove it. We went back and forth and after many calls I decided to just pay to have it repaired myself. I asked Deena to get their trailer out of my yard that was parked outside my front door. I said I was going to solve this myself because I was done being disrespected. Fast forward to June 25, 2022 our roof started leaking by the chimney. We contacted them again to let them know. Deena said someone will get back to us and they never did. I decided to call after several days of no response. I spoke to Deena, she would not let me explain my concern or frustration. She was rude and when I told her I felt she was dismissing my and my problem she said, "I get it chimney leak we are not chimney people." I told her I didn't understand why the customer service was so bad now. When they wanted our business they were very nice. I asked when I could expect this to be resolved and she hung up on me. I tried calling back and they did not answer my calls. I left a voicemail asking for a resolution or I would be seeking legal help. I already footed the bill for one mistake, I'm not will do it again.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/20) */ Mr. ******** was very nice, his Wife however is RUDE. She never talked to us in a civil tone and my roof mechanic told us she said in Spanish that Adam was disrespecting her and Adam said she was yelling at him and told her she cannot treat him like that. I back Adam because she gave my men beer on the job and then posted that they were drinking on the job. Maybe she set us up. We did everything for her but will not be yelled at. She wrote 4 bad reviews and we have great reviews from everyone else. The leak that happened was due to their Chimney and she did not want to hear that. We do not do chimney's. She got it fixed yesterday and we came back and tied the roofing system into the counter flashing that was placed around the bottom of the chimney. We did not do anything wrong. I have attached a picture of her leaking chimney. We covered it for her.
