    Our dog came in to vet on New Years Eve weekend with scrotal infection after neuter. Vet spent 5 mins with our dog said he had necrotic tissue infection and needed another surgery ww asked if we could take him home the vet stated no infection could get into his blood stream. We were presented with an estimate of $6800 and told we had to pay in full. We were told our dog would have surgery next day we call next day and find out they are bringing in a special surgeon from GA. Surgeon calls me right before the surgery and says surgery is appropriate due to infection this vet claims the surgeon gave us an option to not do surgery they record phone calls I listened to it I state I understand he needs surgery never was there a question of so do you still want the surgery. Our regular vet reviewed everything told us any vet could of performed surgery and emergency vet never informed them our dog was there. Our vet called 10 or 11 times for information and this vet was not cooperating. Come to find out our dog never had necrotic tissue he should of had iv antibiotics and sent back to our regular vet for follow up surgery was not required so when I call to ask for money back they are trying to state we opted for quicker recovery of surgery and no money would be refunded. They also claim we said we would never go back to our regular vet which is absolutely not true as we were leaving our dog there we asked will you notify our regular vet they said they would. We found out from our vet several other customers have been ripped off by this same vets office. They took $7000 for a surgery that was not needed. Now they claim we opted for this never did anyone say so you dont have to do surgery here are your options. Our regular vet is furious and said they will never send a client there ever.

    I understand that you want me to remember the following text:"They are arrogant and argumentative. I presented my dog to them, showing symptoms of poisoning; I wanted to know the cause. They incorrectly claimed it was "Marijuana toxicity" based on symptoms alone. I was very straightforward with them when I explained how they were incorrect and that I would still like testing done to find the cause of my dog's distress. They argued more and claimed it was unnecessary; friends and family outside my control could have "tossed a ***** outside of a window, and your dog could have consumed it while on a walk [sic]." I again explained how this could not be the case, as there is no cannabis on my property, and gave them a straightforward explanation as to what I believe the cause may be: a wild plant on a large property. They claimed the symptoms were apparent, and there was no treatment for my dog, regardless of the testing outcome. I still wanted tests; they tried to discourage me, explaining the possibility of a "false negative.' That would be very convenient for them. I did as they advised, and although frustrated, I politely left......and immediately went to another clinic that could fulfill my dog's needs. They ran the tests we wanted and determined no THC was affecting my dog; The Veterinary Medical Center at Lakewood Ranch LLC was boldly incorrect.When I published my experience on ******* they refused to acknowledge their malpractice. They then claimed I denied tests and diagnostics because of the price and that I was "offended." I went to them for tests, and they argued against it. Meanwhile, my dog can not stand or hold liquids. They claimed the price was an issue; it was never an issue.When a clinic argues with its patients, everyone suffers! ***** diagnoses and denial of treatment could result in dead family members. I am grateful and lucky to have my pup still wiggling his tail off every moment of the day."

    Marijuana toxicity is a very common presenting problem at animal hospitals and it is usually easily treatable. When a pet presents with signs that align with this toxicity, most hospitals ask if there is a chance that the pet got into any. If the answer is yes, as long as the amount isn't extreme, the treatment is minimal. You informed us that there was marijuana in the house but that there was no way that your dog had access to it, and became defensive and offended at the question. We explained that although we know it would not be done on purpose, accidents happen and the smallest amount could cause clinical symptoms. We were very straightforward with you and explained that if it was something other than marijuana toxicity, we would need to do additional diagnostics to determine what else could be going on. We recommended a drug screen, but we explained that there was a possibility for a false negative due to the unknown time frame of possible ingestion and other factors. We presented you with an estimate for further diagnostics and testing after the drug screen, which you declined. We hope your pet is feeling better, and we apologize that your experience with us was less than satisfactory.
