I have been staying at Courtney trace since January of 2020 and have always been great about paying my rent on time. In November of 2021 my refrigerator was broken and my maintenance requests were ignored for weeks. Voicemails, emails, office visits ignored. There was a leak from the broken refrigerator as well which kept destroying my groceries for me and my three children. When I was finally contacted by management they replaced the refrigerator and applied a credit to my account to cover the damaged groceries in the amount of $472 after providing the receipts they requested. After the credit was applied I was contacted by phone by management and told to pay the remaining balance of $1,285.74 which I did right away. Fast forward to September 2022 the amount of the credit was was applied was reapplied to my account with my September rent. When I noticed I immediately went to the office to find out what was going on. I was told by ******* the current office manager that there was a returned check on my account in the amount of $472 that did not go through from December of 2021. I informed ******* that I do not own checks and would not have submitted a check for that amount. When she told me the date I remembered the refrigerator and explained what happened. Forwarded her all of the emails and the voicemail from the manager that applied the credit. She told me she would get back to me with a photo of the front and back of the check so that we can look further into this and allowed me to pay my rent without the charger. Now two months later November of 2022 I reached back out about the charge and was informed that the previous manger did not input the credit correctly into the system they see where it was taken off but a line was not input below indicating a credit was applied so I am liable for that amount plus a late fee for every month after. I am a single mother and do not have extra money to pay for something that is no fault of my own. Please help me.
