We took ****** here to get a COVID test, we called and checked with our insurance that it would be $50. We went and sat for an hour waiting on the results and listened to endless steam of branded vitamin ads. He came in, told us it was positive and to take OTC Medicine. Two months later we received a bill that stated our Insurance was charged $355.00, Of which $155 was for " 30-39min moderate level decision making" I called to discuss this with them on ******'s behalf, they did not verify mine or her identity and disclosed all the details to us. I eventually got on the phone with the provider himself, When i told him that i felt like she was taken advantage of he told me that he did me a favor and the test was positive and if i feel that way to come and say it to his #$%&*!$ face and hung up on me. I would usually just pay the bill but it just made me so mad, He was so cold to her when we there that she left in tears, and now because i questioned a line item on the bill he basically invokes a fight.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/20) */ Mr. ******* called our office irate stating that his girlfriend received a bill in the mail. He stated that we were taking advantage of his girlfriend because she is pregnant. Since Mr. ******* was not listed on Mrs. ********'s chart, he was told that we would need to speak to Ms. ********. He became enraged. He put Mrs. ******** on the phone and her identity was verified by *** and case information. She stated the Mr. ******* speaks on her behalf. Mr. ******* then returned to the phone with profanities and slurs. my receptionist began to cry and that's when my provider answered the phone. My provider again reiterated that the bill was part of an unmet deductible. Since Mrs. ******** paid her $50 copay the bill was only $87 dollars. He stated that we were taking advantage of his pregnant girlfriend and he physically threatened to come to the office and assault my provider. My provider stated that from now on, if he had an issue he did not need to intimidate the staff and could speak to him directly. The call was concluded at this point. Mr. ******* went on various social media sites stating that the provider takes advantage of women and does illegal billing practices. He continued to slander the practice and provider and even tagged others in our sites. At this point we feel Mr. ******* is a threat to our staff and we feel we no longer wish to have any contact with this person. We will write off the $87.00 and conclude all contact with this person . We ask that he discontinues all disparaging statements and threats Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/20) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Mr. ******* called our office irate stating that his girlfriend received a bill in the mail. First, I am known amongst a wide group of my peers for being the most patient and reasonable person when it comes to dealing with customer service reps over the phone. I NEVER start out angry and am always seeking information and understanding. I was in absolutely no way irate at the start of this phone call. Your front desk girl was pleasant and helpful. I challenged the line item on the Bill, and she was unable to answer my question, all of this still pleasant and appreciated. He stated that we were taking advantage of his girlfriend because she is pregnant. Glad I wrote down the detail's day of, this wasn't said until way later but ill come back to this. Since Mr. ******* was not listed on Mrs. ********'s chart, he was told that we would need to speak to Ms. ********. He became enraged. He put Mrs. ******** on the phone and her identity was verified by DOB and case information. She stated the Mr. ******* speaks on her behalf. I think its funny that you wanted to put this sentence on record, your CSR literally went over every detail of the account with me, put me on hold and talked to you and returned referencing hipaa law and that she wasn't aloud to discuss the patient's information with me. I responded to her "Well we have actually already talked about everything, but I appreciate that you have a practice in place to protect her privacy, luckily it was me and not a stranger." I was with ****** who verified her info. Mr. ******* then returned to the phone with profanities and slurs. my receptionist began to cry and that's when my provider answered the phone. This is an abhorrent lie, I didtn return to the phone because in the middle of ****** (stressed out pregnant GF) requesting that I handle the matter for her she was interrupted to explain to her why she was charged for the provider "walking in the room" I took the phone back and asked if we could keep her out of it, I explained our grievance once more and the CSR calmly and pleasantly asked if she could call us back in 20 minutes after she spoke with you. We received a call 20 minutes later with the same info, to which I responded "I'm sorry I know you're trying to help but I cannot accept that and I would like to speak to the doctor or go to my insurance" At this point I heard rustling and the provider picked up the phone My provider again reiterated that the bill was part of an unmet deductible. He did not explain this, he simply stated that absolutely he charges for his time" He asked, "was she positive?" "did I help your family?" "so what are you ******** about?" *****point at which I became irate***** He stated that we were taking advantage of his pregnant girlfriend I absolutely did say this and believe it! What a terrible thing to do to someone in her position. and he physically threatened to come to the office and assault my provider. If this had been left out, I would have accepted it, but I cannot. The exact sentence said to me by this provider was "if you feel that way you can come up here and say it to my ******* face" I never threatened violence or would, I reported this to HSCO ten minutes later with all the details. Since Mrs. ******** paid her $50 copay the bill was only $87 dollars. The bill we received was for $139.00 not 87.00 and only a result of an un-discussed additional charge of $155.00 for "moderate level decision making" which our insurance did not cover. We called for a covid test, not a doctor's visit. We double checked with you and our insurance before coming here. and he physically threatened to come to the office and assault my provider. NEVER ever ever would I physically threaten someone over $139.00. My provider stated that from now on, if he had an issue, he did not need to intimidate the staff and could speak to him directly. The call was concluded at this point. Not even going to comment, this level of reasoning would have probably been able to resolve such a simple matter. Mr. ******* went on various social media sites stating that the provider takes advantage of women and does illegal billing practices. He does He continued to slander (truth is not slander) the practice and provider and even tagged others in our sites. Damn straight. At this point we feel Mr. ******* is a threat to our staff and we feel we no longer wish to have any contact with this person. We will write off the $87.00 and conclude all contact with this person. We ask that he discontinues all disparaging statements and threats No problem on the threats, never made one so you can count on that. If the truth disparages you, then I invite you to search inward and evaluate how you deal with people and how the way you treat your consumers directly correlates to way your business is perceived. Would like clarification of whether or not ******'s debt is resolved, sounds like your just Gunna turn her into collections like the upstanding man that you are. I've seen a lot of this happen to other people, being over charged for un-disclosed and erroneous charges because they have insurance, and they know they can get away with it. It makes me feel so hopeless about where our medical system is at. I can't think of anything more predatory and disgusting. This one strikes a certain chord with me and I'm not willing to let it go.
