I bought a new set of tires from Weavers Tires but they were not installing the tires because I was buying new rims at another place and Bill at Weavers told me since the rim shop was doing all the mounting and balancing then they would instead do a frontend alignment for me. Within two hundred miles after the alignment the front end started making a clunking sound when braking. I took the car back and they looked underneath and Bill at Weavers told me that the control arm & sway bar bushings were bad. He told me they don't do that kind of work and wrote down a phone number on the work order for a business that would be able to fix it. Bill tells me to have it fixed and then bring it back for a re-alignment. Well the other shop tells me the bushings were fine, the problem was that the bolts evidently weren't torqued down when the alignment was done. When I told this to Bill at Weavers he tells me they never did an alignment on my car because my bushings were bad. If Weavers didn't install the tires and are trying to say I never brought the car back for an alignment then how would they know the bushings were bad? He tells me to bring the car back first thing one morning and I would be the first in and they would look to see what the problem was. I bring the car back in and immediately Bill shows me just a tire receipt and says they never did an alignment. Now he's already given me a reason why the work wasn't done meaning I was there for an alignment so why is he not waving around a work order explaining why the work couldn't be done along with the phone number of the shop that could fix it? After confronting him, now all of a sudden he gives me the cold shoulder and says there are five cars in front of me and it will be three hours before they can even look at it. I turned around and walked out. I have since taken my car to a dependable shop for an alignment and they confirmed that my bushings were good. That's 2 companies telling me the bushings were fine.

      Business response

      03/30/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/03/02) */ This response was taken verbally by the BBB This customer was serviced on November 2nd 2020, since it was so long ago anything could of happened to the car in between that time. Consumer Response /* (3000, 9, 2022/03/04) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I expected no less of an answer from Weavers. What they don't let you know is that even though the tires were purchased on 11/02/20, when I brought the car in for the problem in September of 2021 I had only put about 150 miles on the car because it is a classic car that I rarely drive so their response about the time gone by is irrelevant. Notice also they are not denying that they had done a frontend alignment after I bought the tires nor are they clarifying any of their contradictions in their storyline. Need I say more? Buyer beware. Mistakes will be made, but not stepping up to the plate and taking responsibility for your mistakes is bad business. It also appears their mechanics don't know what a good or bad bushing looks like, and they didn't even detect the loose bolts on the front end when I brought the car in for the clunking noise; very troubling. I didn't even mention previously how they bad mouthed the mechanic I took the car to who finally diagnosed the problem, even though they had recommended him. Very unprofessional.
