Spring broke on my garage door. I called DGD and they sent a person out to repair, your mind you I could not get my vehicle out of the garage. So the man helped me move my car after he open the door when he proceeded to tell me I needed new springs. The Installed cost would be $680 approximately, well he caught me at a bad time I needed the problem fixed. After he left I looked up the cost of springs on Amazon. Theyre about $130. So basically Im charged over $500 for an install that to approximately 30 minutes. Talking about buyers remorse. This company stole from me! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DGD!!!!!

Let’s just say in 2019 I purchased new rollers they cost $250 today I got a call I need new rollers that’s less than 4 years. I had them come out about a noise I was hearing and that was four months ago, two maybe three months goes by one of the sensors broke again they came to replace I liked him I asked for him. If switched the old one with the new one no cost because the warranty covered it. He never checks anything else leaves than a month later they call me and said he says I need a maintenance done and new rollers?!?! How the heck do the rollers go bad in two months let alone 4 years. On top of it he doesn’t tell me anything about this and if I don’t spend the $270 to replace the rollers with them or if I do it myself it voids the warranty. I found rollers for $40 with lifetime warranty on them made in the USA. Theirs are made in Taiwan and didn’t last 4 year but they want put the same ones on!?!? It’s worse than anything I have seen. Also I lived here 10 years before using them and never had a problem but ever since I used them I have had nothing but regrets. It’s funny they even ask you to give them a good review because they get money for 5 stars. Just WOW I have no words it’s disgusting. All you people giving 5 star reviews I truly have know idea what you are smoking. Is it because they have next day opening’s because they are charming? Because if some one put this crap parts on my car I’d be pissed! I know I’m angry but this is the truth about this company they put crap parts on up sale you the warranty and then if you doing anything at all to it they void it. How does the rollers effect the garage opener I have a warranty on the opener I should be able to replace the rollers if i choose. Don’t get me wrong they do ok when replacing things but they talk as if it’s the best product… when I find the same stuff on Amazon for instance $200 bucks to replace sensors that are exactly the same on amazon for $24 and it takes 10 mins to replace.

This is the second time I had tech come out for same problem. Chris M.  was professional and courteous. He fixed the door from hitting the bar by shortening the brackets. He reprogrammed the remotes too. I liked him and will ask for him by name if I need anymore repairs done.

I have been dealing with a broken single garage door for a couple of years, and it just became a custom to open and close it manually. When my two car door started acting up, I decided to go ahead and fix both doors at the same time. I was able to get service scheduled the following day after I called. The technician, ******, showed up on time after calling ahead. When he got here he did a thorough inspection and gave me a great explanation of everything that needed to be done to either repair or replace certain parts. The whole job lasted about four hours, and I was just amazed at how much better the doors are working. I had two new motors installed, and they are unbelievably quiet. I couldnt be happier. ****** installed all new switches and programmed all the new remotes for me, including the one in my car. Total cost was $1465, but well worth it considering the results so far.

My garage door malfunction last week & Melissa from Discount garage door sent out a technician to fix it. The technician came out last week Wednesday on the 25th of January. He pushed two buttons & charged me $150. He advised me if I pay with a credit card card I would be charged 3% more. He advised me to use a check & I comply. I ask Melissa to email a copy of the bill & it was not itemized. My garage opener malfunction again on Monday of this week. I called DGD & they sent the same technician yesterday which was Tuesday January 31st. He arrived & adjusting the springs saying that garage door is too heavy for the opener which your company installed 5 years ago. He recommended that I replaced the garage opener. He wanted me to replace with the same brand ( Linear) which would have been $475.00 & wouldn’t put my original $150 towards it. I asked your technician about a better garage opener which is the lift master. He said it would cost me $1,000.00. He insulted me by saying he knows I don’t like spending money. I decided to go with A1 garage doors since they quoted me $ 525 for the lift master garage opener & they did a great job & their technician was very professional. I would like your company to give me a full refund for my inconvenience!!!!! Thank you Carol C.

Our garage door wouldn’t close and we saw the spring dangling down. We had Discount Garage Door come out and the repairman took advantage of our lack of knowledge as first time homeowners and SCAMMED us out of nearly $1800 for unnecessary and overpriced repairs which they charged for UP FRONT prior to doing the work. After talking to many other people, this cost is FAR outside the norm. They claim they gave us 5 or 6 quotes to choose from, but they were given verbally and were not adequately explained, otherwise we never would’ve agreed. We even asked for his recommendation of which option to pick given that we just need it to be minimally functional as we almost never use that detached garage and will be moving and selling in less than a year, and he decided to upsell us on the 1800 option. It wasn’t until after we signed and paid that we were sent the actual quotes. Upon reviewing the email, we see that the main 3 the man was talking over were the ones for roughly 1200, 1800, and 1900 (all absolutely outrageous). At the time we didn't even know reattaching it for $300 was a viable option. He even considered it to be a "good" option according to the quote title in the email. Yet the repairman did not present it as such. He told us he'd order some special springs and come back, but that he could put on temporary springs in the meantime until they arrive. To us, temporary implied loaner springs that he would be taking back when our new ones arrived. We discovered part of the reason the quotes were so high is that he never told us we would be BUYING these “temporary springs” for $300, which is charged on ALL of his quoted options. Why would we buy $300 of springs that aren't even compatible with our garage? Other insane charges are $650 for the “special” springs and $300 for a chain rail. After everyone told us we had been massively ripped off, I called them to cancel the job. I spoke to the manager Anna and she was unwilling to do anything to resolve this issue.

Used them today to fix my garage door which ended up needing the sensors replaced. Was charged $248 for the sensors which can be purchased at Amazon or Lowe's for $40. Total bill was $398. I'm not against a company making a fair profit but I believe this borders on gouging.
