My grandmother has lived here for a year and lost her husband in January 2023. The manager forced my grandmother to sign a document in February with her husbands name on it. When my grandma asked what it was, she said it was a lease. When asked for a copy, my grandma was denied. The manager was then informed by my grandmothers POA, that all paperwork will go through the POA, and not my grandmother. Last Thursday March 9, 2023, the manager pounded on her door again, demanding my grandmother to sign another lease, and to sign it by 2:30pm that day. My grandmother declined and told the manager to call her POA. My grandmother was scared and avoided returning home the next day until after 5pm, when the manager would be off work. On Sunday, March 12, (on the managers day off) the manager pounded on my grandmas door again, demanding her to come to the office. Once in the office, the manager SLAMMED THE DOOR AND LOCKED MY GRANDMOTHER IN THR OFFICE and was trying to FORCE MY GRANDMA TO SIGN LEGAL DOCUMENTS UNDER DURESS! My grandma had to go to the ER for a panic attack. This manager is a bully and harasses many other elderly there that are too afraid to stand up for themselves. My grandmother loves the atmosphere of Magnolia Gardens, but the treatment by its manager is reckless, abusive, and illegal. My grandmother suffered emotional abuse from this situation and is now scared to stay at her apartment alone.
