On or near January 11th, 2022 I contacted Affordable heating and air here in Cape Coral Florida due to having no heat. They sent out a repair person who checked out the system. So far everything went fine. A little time later he came to the door and handed me my "heating element" which he removed from the unit stating he did so to "match it up" because he could not find the serial number or model number. The serial number was in plain site on the front plate of the heating unit. Secondly I did not tell him to remove the unit from my a/c system. I explained that I had a warranty service that was due to start in 3 weeks and it would only cost me $100 instead of $350. On or about February 4th 2022, I was informed by my warranty company that they would not service anything that was removed from a unit they covered bhy someone else. I called Affordable air and heat and asked them to kindly have the tech come back and reinstall the unit he removed. They gave me a hard time then telling me they were going to charge me another service call of $69 to have it put back. I complained enough where they sent out the repair man and he reinstalled it. The weather was still quite cool at that time and we did not use the a/c at all then. The evening of the 18th of February was warm and we turned on the a/c again. A unit that was working perfectly fine did no longer work. I called Affordable again and explained the situation and they told me that a charge of $130 would be charged for them to come out and fix what THEY did wrong. This company is nothing but a rip off for homeowners. They send out their people to look at your problem, disassemble it, and then charge you again to fix what they broke. I will have my warranty company repair the problem. But if they find a problem was deliberately done, or even overlooked by Affordable heating and air I will be seeking full restitution of money paid to THEM as well as to MY WARRANTY people. THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE USING THIS COM.
