      On April 11, 2022 ************************* of Captain Cold performed the maintenance contract on my air conditioning. I paid him $150. by check for this service in addition to the second service to take place in November. Due to the hurricane, I was unable to fly into ************** and rescheduled in October for January, 2023. In January I began calling *****, who does not even have an answering service set up, asking for an appointment for my service. I have received only the run around from him and **** his assistant. Finally I sent an email to him asking for the return of my $75.00. When I did not receive a response I called and ***** advised me he does not read his emails, but promised to mail me the check. A week passes and no check. On January 30 he told me he would deliver the check between 8:30am and 9:00am on January 31. NO CHECK. He is not answering his phone and you can not leave a message. How do I resolve this issue.

      We have a family condominium on Sanibel Island, Florida. This past June, the rental agency we use received a complaint from a couple renting the unit. In brief there was extremely high humidity in the unit and it was uncomfortable to the extent they could not sleep. The agency called Captain Cold the contractor who install the AC in the winter of last year. Captain Cold visited the unit on three separate occasions and said they was no problem. After the second visit, the renter had had enough was moved out. The owner of Captain Cold was the third visit and reported the problem was a water leak from the unit above. The agency check the unit above and found NO WATER LEAK. Since Captain Cold refused to do anything on the basis of their belief of the water leak, we were forced to hire another contractor and rectified the problem. We they found was poor workmanship in the original installation by Captain Cold. The attached report provides a detailed summary. Thank you

      Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2021/09/28) */ This response was taken verbally by BBB: The unit that was inside his house was 1 year old. It had a 10 year parts and labor warranty. I have video of the unit cooling to 71 degrees and no humidity and no mold inside the duct work at all or the new unit. The customer was misled by his management company and improperly sold a new unit. The new unit is not the correct unit because it doesn't match the SEER rating and no permit was ever pulled.
