After ***, I signed with ARMEX Construction on ************** in **********, ** 33904.On 1/19/2023 I gave a $2,000.00 dep and another $9,000.00 on 4/19/2023 because they said they pulled the permit. That was a lie they didn't pull the permit until 5/4/23, 2 days after the job was **mpleted. ****** came from their ** to measure and said he and his son would be installing my cage. On 4/17/23 a truck pulled up with men who spoke no English and they were bringing material to my back yard. Finally a man named ****, who I found out later was with Complete Renovation and Construction and I had never heard of that **mpany, said they were going to do my cage. I said NO I was told ****** was doing it. He said that wouldn't be for months. I said I will wait. I got nowhere. I **uld call him for any questions. Unacceptable. They put my new cage in from where my old cage was, leaving an ugly mess. They said there was a new **de, so that was where it had to go. I called the city and there was NO NEW CODE. It was a lie. Stars and stripes owner *************************, who I never heard of until I saw that name on the permit on 5/4 was here and I said I wanted to look in my gutter. I am a 75 year old female, and I got my large ladder. They had pin holes for the water to be released to my downspout. He said wait until Aug and see what happens. Like h*** I had a **mpany **me and fix it the best they **uld. They had to work around the holes. They took a picture and said it was not done properly. I stopped payment on my check, because the water that would have backed up in my home would have **st me more than that. ALSO I HAVE NO HOME OWNER INS. I was with UPC. They have sent me multi letters, lien freight notices and have put liens on my property. I am going to try to forward texts and emails from them to you and a letter titled CONTRACTOR DISPUTE that I have written. Please help me. This is elderly abuse and more. The only true part of ************** statement unfortunately is the amount of the deposit she had given in the beginning. Other than this, its a twisted interpretation to the events that ultimately lead our company to press charges against her committing a financial crime. The ********** Police report is 23-012914, we have requested a copy as you can through a FOIA if you want.
The cage passed all inspections. Was built exactly according to the engineered drawings from a state certified engineer. Mrs **** is conflating Code with engineering requirements under the code that controls what the engineer must do in order to meet the written ******* regulations. This was explained in detail by the city member, and the inspector on multiple occasions, she does not have the capacity Im afraid to understand the construction means and methods of this project. She feels taken advantage of because she doesnt understand. The city has visited multiple times and has no quarrel with the cage, its install, or any other noted items Mrs **** has mentioned. We have gone to great lengths to appease her to no avail.
We have filed the necessary and legal appropriate liens on her property for the unpaid work. We have also filed a police report as she gave a worthless check knowingly and unlawfully canceled it for work provided. The check was provided after a punch list and 3rd visit to appease her and the items that she didnt like that are abnormal but we appealed to her. She is mistaken in her understanding of the law. 17.3 Worthless Check 832.05(2), Fla. Stat. This amount can be a 3rd degree felony.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:I think **** Arias, *******************, and ************************* are confused and are not willing to address the real issue. I have sent the confirmation from Chosen ************************ I received a phone call on June 28, from ******* **** from the ********** ****************** I explained the situation and told him I have the funds. I STOPPED PAYMENT ON CHECK #***. With the multitude of paperwork they have sent me, there is a copy of the check stating. He also gave me his personal phone number. When I saw the pin holes in my gutter to release the deluge of rain that we receive, I was shocked. ************************* saw it also. His comment was "well it's not great, but let's wait until Aug and see what happens". I already know is going to happen. One leaf or silt blocking the pin holes would cause the water to back up into my home. No one who knew what they were doing would ever connect a gutter to a down spout like this. It should have been a 2"hole, a drop, screws and caulking. The one they removed was done correctly. If I didn't notice this, it could have been a catrophe. My final payment to you would have cost me a lot more than that. :

We are not willing to go back and forth with twisted facts. Bottom Line is ******** accepted work, accepted final payment punch list items, had our team for another day, at her request " English speaking team" which was part of her initial complaint which we find disturbingly offence, All this was done to appease and allow final payment which ******** supplied, and with the full intent to stopping funds. This is a violation of law. We will proceed with the fullest extend of the legal channels afforded us.Initial Complaint

I'm a disabled military veteran and retired federal investigator who awarded Armex as my second choice to complete a VA funded project since December of 2020. Armex design center showroom lures in customers then fools them in broken promises. Message to ALL veterans and any customer who desires ANY projects should stay away from this company. Armex is an family run business, and their owner has no control over ANY of the project managers especially ***** the brother-in-law. They lack communicatio with their customers after receiving money. Additionally, Armex has poor and uncompleted projects for an extended periods of which they refuse to correct after botching the jobs. Armex receive five stars due to small quick projects that they over charged their customers. Just as in my botched project which nearly took them a year to complete a deck. And now Armex project manager has refused to repair it stating, "we cannot continue to come out to repair crack deck peices"! I awarded Armex my project as my second choice following a bid after the original awarded contractor was unable to meet the VA standards. As to date Armex hasn't made any repairs to their faulty material used in the botched project.Business response

The customers job was completed and the VA inspected the job and paid in full. The customer has called several times and we went out each time to repair little issues. After we discovered it was a material issue it is now up to the manufacturer to respond accordingly. The material has a long warranty. We are well past the year on labor warranty. The customer needs to get the manufacturer to repair and or replace the defective material. We have no control over them.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:First, after my BBB review was posted the new owner/representative from Armex contacted me and stated that this company was dissolving for several factors. He continued to apologize for the lack of ex Armex reps communication and forward me the contact info of the manufacturer of the materials used.
However, after discussing the issue further with legal counsel ex -Armex still holds some responsibility as it hasn't been determined by the manufacturer of the materials under warranty that their materials are faulty or was it the method of installation.
Bottom-line, whether ex-Armex or new Armex, this company still has the responsibility like all businesses to stand by there products materials and work installation used until one can prove that they are exempt from faulty.
