We have paid a deposit to Celebration Cake Bar for our wedding cake. The deposit was made August 21st for $231.40 via Zelle. We heard from ***************************** prior to setting up our wedding contract and deposit. Once she received the deposit we have not heard from her. I texted and emailed to follow up with details for our wedding day and received nothing back. The next day the emails were all bounced back to me as she was out of business. I called her to follow up about the business being closed and having no contact and she stated we will not get our money back as she has done nothing wrong. However, the business is now closed and has many recent reviews of her not showing up to deliver cakes for weddings, birthdays and celebrations in general. We explained this is a risk we do not want to take to not have cake for our wedding and she said she will get back to us. But her reviews online clearly state she is always saying she is sick and cannot make it to events. We still have time to find another vendor but would like our money back. As she is scamming everyone to get deposits and then not show up. She is stealing from many.
