I purchased a modular home in Clearwater and the Home owner said he would pay to have the 4 Point Home inspection done so that I would be able to get home owner insurance. In the report which was done on August 13, 2021 the inspector stated their was a working furnace. I submitted this report to the insurance company and got my insurance. Since I live in Cleveland, Ohio and was purchasing this home as a winter home. I arrived in Florida on Jan 20, 2022. That evening I went to turn on the heat only to find that the furnace did not work, only blowing cold air. After having several furnace companies come out to check the furnace only to told that there was no way this furnace would work since it was so botched up inside. I contacted the previous home owner who said just turn it off an on. the inspector response was I have a furnace guy that I have breakfast with that I could recommend (he did not act surprised that it was not working or he would have said it was working when I checked it) I believe he knew it was working at the time he inspected it ! He made a false state at the time of the inspection saying that this was a working furnace. I had to put in a new furnace because of this. I am looking to get reimbursed since the inspector lied on the report that it was a working furnace and he is bonded so i should be able to go after the bonding company for him making a false statement on record. I can provide documents from the furnace companies and photos if needed to show the condition of the furnaceBusiness response
