Very disappointing experience with the Wave (March 2023). Was told by the intake team (Deborah) that their mental health program was incredibly successful in helping women in mental health/anxiety crisis situations. They were so compassionate on the intake process…read on. 1) Financially, the out of pocket was $9K for us! BUT they said, if, for some reason, my family member left the 30-day program sooner, we'd be refunded pro rata portion of that $9K. After 2 weeks of the WAVE (more on the level of care to come) she wasn’t getting anything out of this and got her out. When I asked about the pro-rata refund on their 30-day program, they said “ohh…didn’t we tell you? that refund is only last relative to what your insurance pays NOT to what you understood through us and this being a 30-day program. So, your refund is $0. $0 dollars despite what we told you! Kristin even said, “she would have been more thorough in her explanation and understood why I was frustrated.” It's really a baby-sitting facility in my opinion. No real therapeutic intervention. Yoga, general generic group therapy (my family member in crisis is a educated practiced psychotherapist with an MSW so she knows what good therapy looks like) with counselors and therapists but very little one on one therapeutic intervention. Trips to Target? A pool no one could use? Once a week acupuncture? After 2 weeks of this baby sitting, we got her out. One of the Puppy-mill quasi-therapeutic facilities in Florida that charge thousands Ignore the shiny website and the loquacious salespeople when you vulnerably reach out in crisis.
