Purchased a Cylinder head, for a 3rz ****** engine. They sent me the head, after installing the head on the vehicle it ran for 30 seconds and locked up, after inspecting the cylinder head the cam journals were not properly machined cylinder 3 on both the intake and exhaust journals. Contacted the company they advised me they would send me return label. I cleaned the head up with brake cleaner really good cause it was not right to send it back coated in oil. I wiped it down really good and shipped it back to Clearwater Cylinder head. They received the head and contacted me and stated the failure was due to no lubricate at the top of the engine. I explained to them what i had done to prep for shipping. The manager said he could not warranty the part and could throw something together for me at an additional charge. I was not going to proceed because they did not send me a quality part. The valves and the cam for the exhaust side are still good. The cam on the intake side broke the guide pin off when it locked up. they could still resell in another unit. The manager thinks they are perfect, and they have no defects. I will read online reviews before selecting a business cause this one seems to be doing this to other's as well.

We received a new cylinder head (brand new not rebuilt) back for warranty which we inspected upon arrival. When we disassembled the cylinder head it was abundantly clear the camshafts had seized in the head due to lack of lubrication. There was no oil in the top of the head at all and all oil passages were clear. The cylinder head obviously turned over before by the customers own admission after stating the head was installed and ran. After speaking to the customer in regards to the failure we regretfully informed him that a lack of lubrication is not covered under warranty. As a show of good faith we offered a brand new replacement part at cost which he ultimately declined.Review from M. S.

Purchased a cylinder head from Clearwater cylinder head, They sent me the head. The cam journals were not properly machined. Causing damage to the cylinder cam journals between two and three. None of the other cam journals were damaged. Vehicle was not driven and locked up within 30 seconds of starting the vehicle.. I advised merchant that I had cleaned the cylinder head very good with brake cleaner to avoid putting an oily cylinder head in a box for shipping. I contacted them to advise. I was sending it back. after they received the cylinder, head back, The merchant then stated they inspected it, and that the reason was that my vehicle had no oil to the top of the engine and that was the reason for the damage to the cam journals and they were not going to warranty the part. They advised me that they would sell me another head for $405 when I had already spent 875.. I will not give them more money when they did not send me a good product in the first place..The manager acted like they are perfect and they have no quality concerns.Review from Lewis S

I have been buying cylinder heads off Clearwater Cylinder Head through **** for years, always with excellent results. One of my mechanics cracked a Cam Shaft bearing retainer on a Chevrolet Aveo; a virtually unobtainable part. I called Clearwater and talked to ***** and he located a used part from their stock of cores and Fed-Exed it to me at no charge. ************************ the call of duty. I could not recommend them more.Review from Sean P

Good local shop that takes care of the local guys. I always take my heads here to get resurfacing and checked out.
