Overview:I was denied a cataract surgery because Robson Institute submitted the request to the wrong insurance company. I want my $200 plus $165 for prescription eye drops back so I can go to a different eye doctor.I was scheduled for services and prescriptions related to the prep towards the cataract surgery. I attended all scheduled appointments, paid for prescriptions to be filled, only to find out my cataract surgery was cancelled, but they submitted the surgery request to the wrong insurance company.Because of this negligence, I am seeking a refund of the $200 for eye measurement fees, and $165 refund for prescriptions for 3 types of eye drops. I want this refund so I can go to a different eye doctor where their office staff is more organized and professional, and where I will be treated better, and where my vision will be accurately diagnosed (see 20/20 Vision bullet point below).Robson Institute was advised verbally, in person, of my health insurance changes.Humana Gold Plus (previous insurance)In Jan 2023 changed to *********************** Jan-Dec 2023 was ******* Blue.Jan 2024 switched from ******* Blue to *************** PPO.Robson Institute was told verbally in person, face to face, of new insurance.When they were scheduling me for surgery, I told them about my new insurance.Robson Institute ended up contacting old insurance company when it was time to get authorization for surgery, old insurance company denied the surgery.Seeking a refund of $200 plus $165, total $365.If there is no surgery scheduled, then I need a refund. I should not be held liable for office staff mistakes.Numerous phone calls made, efforts to resolve the matter in person were not taken seriously.At one appointment, a Technician said I had 20/20 Vision!Google Reviews show that this has happened to other patients.***Please see expanded complaint as last pdf attachment "BBB Complaint against Robson Eye Institute".Initial Complaint

Paid $180 out of pocket for 12/15/2021 office visit. Reception told me if anything changes with insurance I would receive refund. Never received refund so I called 6/17/2022 - left voicemail. No return call. Called again 6/21/2022, Female in billing said, "Yes, you do have refund coming. You should receive check in a few weeks."Did not receive refund, called again 8/11/2022, left voicemail, no return call. Called again 8/17/2022, unnamed female said, "I don't see any refund on your account. I guess I can call your insurance." Now, 9/22/2022 still no refund. Attached documents show I paid $180, insurance indicates I should owe $30, so I should receive $150. No Go after 4 phone calls. Please help. Thank you!
