This place accepted payment then completely ignored my tax issue for months. At one point they stated that they were reviewing lots of tax forms that they received form the **** That was a lie, the *** didn't send them anything. These were the following excuses they used for not addressing my tax issues as I paid them to do. Each of these excuses was provided separately and individually at different times as I inquired as to why they had not met the deadline to which they set and agreed to up front. 1. ****'s dad had just recently died. 2. ******'s dad was in hospice on his death bed. 3. ****** had just gone and visited her father for the last time. 4. ******'s father had passed away. 5. ***** allegedly spent weeks and weeks in ********** dealing with a funeral. 6. One of their dachshunds was sick and maybe about to die. 7. Their dog died. I had thousands of dollars in *** debt on the line which depended on a deadline. I am sorry for their personal problems, however they certainly didn't mention any of these problems when they accepted my payment and agreed to a deadline. There comes a point that I don't care about your personal s**t, do what you promised you would do!! If they tell you that you are like family now, WATCH OUT!! Tell them you won't tell them your personal problems, and you don't wanna hear about theirs. I intend to post negative reviews about these people everywhere I can; **************** yelp, everywhere I can find. Please watch out for these liars. They are NOT CPA's they will imply that they have better than a CPA. LIE. ****** it.

This client has already received the refund for his "non-refundable deposit."

Client was originally told that we did not have time to take on his work. He name-dropped another client of ours and elaborated quite a bit. That said, we told him that we could not begin work for three more days.  All agreed. He called both that night and the next night for status and was reminded of the previous deal that work would not begin until the agreed upon date.

He stated that he could get an appointment with the *** for the same day work would begin. We told him that he should go ahead and do this.He was informed that it would not go well with both parties working the case with the ***. We told him that we would not work on it since he would go to the *** himself. However, if he could not get to the *** to let us know and we would gladly resume the work.

We did not hear from the client, but surprisingly from his attorney. Even though he was not technically eligible for the refund of his deposit, we gave it to him anyway, so that it could help whichever way he wanted, and wished him well.

This was this past summer, and it is sad that he is evidently spending a lot of time and emotion with frustration with us not meeting his timeline and has not received the help that was needed and important for him.

I am rejecting this response because:

      Sincerely,

      *************************

I have never seen such a ridiculous bunch of lies in my life as the ones contained in ******'s response.  First Lie: Client was originally told that we did not have time to take on his work. They never told me that at all. They told me they would contact the *** and get working on my stuff they day after I paid them, and that they could let me know something by the Friday of that same week. Yes, I was referred by a friend of mine who was an existing client of theirs, so naturally I mentioned his name. Lie 2:  That said, we told him that we could not begin work for three more days. What nonsense. This ***************** will make up anything. I am definitely planning on submitting PDF copies of our dated initial agreement as well as our text messages, in which ****** started telling me all about her person problems from dead parents to sick dogs and dead parents. I tried contacting them for weeks and all I was told by ****** was that the was reviewing documents the *** sent her regarding my case. However when she was asked for these documents, she could not provide them.

When I initially came into her office I explaiend that a 'statute of limitations' was fast approaching, and that this needed to be resolved by then, or else I would be in the hook for thousands of dollars. So, ****** gave me a reassuring hug and let me know they would start work the next day and call me Friday of that same week with an update.

Lie 3: We did not hear from the client, but surprisingly from his attorney. They heard from my attorney only after having ignored me for weeks. I hired an attorney because that was the only way I could get a refund.

This whole thing is their fault. They lied to me in regards to when they could start working on my tax issues, then ignored my calls and texts. Well, except for occasionally telling me all about their personal problems.

At this point I tend to believe that they did not have time to work on my tax problems in time to beat the pending 'statute of limitations'. However, instead of telling me that during my initial visit, they took my payment and assured me they would start work on my issue the next day, and give me an update the Friday of the same week,  I didn't contact them for an update until early or middle of the following week.

Because they dropped the ball, lied, and ignored me after taking my money, I requested / demanded a refund. In order to get my refund, I had to hire an attorney. At this juncture, I s=am seeking reimbursement of the legal fees which were required to get my refund.

When this taxpayer engaged our services, he was only able to pay $100 as a non-refundable retainer for our services.

Out of kindness and compassion for his financial situation, we made an exception to our company policy and issued him a refund.

The check was sent payable to him via **** Certified Mail with tracking to his lawyer.

His next move was to demand that we pay us his attorney bill for an additional $500.

He threatened that if we did not pay it, he would blast negative reviews and complaints everywhere he could to discredit our business.

If being kind to him and giving him a refund with good faith results in this kind of anger, threats and abuse, where would it end?

THIS CASE NEEDS TO BE CLOSED BY THE BBB.

We are sorry for his frustration and hope that he can find the help he needs.

I met with the company on March 2nd. was promised my taxes for my business and personal would be filed and taken care of. after a few weeks of uploading documents and then reaching out without response I assumed they're busy but was again met with no response over and over. As the Tax deadline approached I became more concerned and began to call with no response. I was promised a call back which never happened either. I did show up to the office to retreive my documents on April 18th only to be met with hostility and fraud this comapany is a total scam and should not be allowed to operate.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/02) */ This individual sought our services because both he as an individual taxpayer and his corporation, of which he is the sole shareholder and officer, had tax issues with both the IRS and the Florida Department of Revenue. The retainer of $350.00 that he paid to us on March 2, 2022 would be to begin the discovery process, obtaining tax transcripts and doing a compliance check with the taxation agencies. On that date, he signed the charge card receipt, our taxpayer representation agreement, disclosure and consent form, and the IRS and FL-DOR powers of attorney, empowering us to begin representation to these agencies. Notably, our representation agreement states that the retainer paid for our services is non-refundable, and knowingly, he signed the agreement. Our engagement for these services began less than two weeks before the corporation filing deadline of March 15, 2022. The IRS account discovery, along with documents and data that this individual did not yet possess was vital to completing the corporate tax return. His individual tax return could not be completed either, until we had the income documents from his corporation, so extensions were filed. He understood that tax return extensions for both his individual and corporate tax returns were necessary, and both were filed timely and we have evidence that they were accepted by the IRS. TaxGenuity, Inc. provided far more services to this individual and his corporation than what was enumerated in the signed agreements and retainer invoice. He knew that the tax returns might not have been completed prior to the tax filing deadlines, and filing extensions were necessary because he did not have all the information to complete the returns and we are waiting on additional information from the IRS. In good faith, we did far more work than was initially outlined and covered by the retainer. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/05/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) There was no communication about extensions nor missing documents. I took the exact same documents to another cpa and it was completed. I reached out via text and email with no response and then met with hostility and the treat or calling authorities when I tried to retrieve my documents. This company keeps its doors locked and blinds drawn. Was asked to wait outside and feared they would lock me out and avoid me. See attached texts that were not responded to the only response was addressing the corporate return extension. Never any communication . Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/05/13) */ The retainer of $350 that this client paid to our company is not refundable. This individual signed our Taxpayer Representation Agreement, which clearly states that no refunds would be issued. He legally empowered us to represent him before both the IRS and the Florida Department of Revenue to determine what was necessary to bring his business and individual tax filings to compliance with these agencies. Completing the tax returns accurately depended on these findings and missing information that the client still needed to provide. While we were hopeful, we could never promise they would be done before the filing deadlines. As a courtesy, we filed extensions for him. Late in the afternoon of the day of the individual filing deadline, he showed up at our office without an appointment, demanding his documents back and for us to write him a check. His intense disruption was witnessed by five other clients in our office and recorded on our security cameras. He immediately created a chargeback with his credit card, so we cannot issue a refund. Since he went to another firm to finish the work, there is nothing additional for us to do for him. We respectfully request that this case be closed.
