I am writing to file a complaint against Tuffy, the auto service center where I recently had my car serviced. On Saturday, I brought my Jeep Wrangler in at 8:45 am to have a new aux battery installed. Prior to this, I was quoted a price of approximately $200 for the battery on the preceding Thursday.Upon arrival, I was informed that the battery itself would cost $200, despite my knowledge that it was priced at $130 at AutoZone across the street. When I pointed this out to the technician, he responded with indifference.During the battery replacement process, the backup camera in my vehicle ceased to function. The technicians attempted to rectify the issue by inspecting my Jeep, but after nearly 1.5 hours, they were unable to resolve it and suggested I wait 24 hours and contact them again if the problem persisted.Upon leaving the service center, I noticed that the cover for my charger port had fallen off. When I contacted the manager to request a replacement, he denied that they had been inside my vehicle. However, I have photographic evidence of technicians inside my car during the service.Furthermore, while troubleshooting the backup camera issue, they also damaged the media ports and sensors in my car. As a result, these components are no longer working properly.I am requesting that Tuffy replace the damaged parts, which cost $130 for the charger port cover and additional costs for the media port and sensor repairs, and cover the labor for all installations. This experience has been frustrating and disappointing, and I expect the business to take responsibility for the damage caused during the service.I spoke with the manager and he refused to accommodate the repair or even consideration of it.Initial Complaint

I took my car to Tuffy because I was having a misfire issue. They called and told me that the reason for the misfire was because I needed a tune-up and to replace my fuel injectors. He quoted me a tune-up with the fuel injectors being replaced at almost $1,400 but if they didn't replace the fuel injectors now and did everything else for the tune-up it would be $800. I chose the ladder because I couldn't afford everything he said I needed. A week later, I was speaking with another car mechanic, and he was telling me it is common practice for the fuel injectors to be taken care of for a tune-up, and it should not be something that's separate of a tune-up. I went on their website, specifically for their specific store, and it's lists under a tune-up what is included and specifically states "and replace the following", to which the fuel injectors are listed under that tune-up. I called that Tuffy the next day to ask them what's included in a tune-up, and could not get a straight answer. After telling them what their website said, they directed me to corporate. 2 weeks later, I had to call corporate back, and they are not amending the situation. I did end up finding out on my own by running a computer through my car system that nothing is wrong with my fuel injectors and that I'm having a misfiring issue because of one messed up coil. Since my receipt says I paid for a tune-up, I want all that is included in a tune-up that is listed on their website. It is not my fault that their website says "and replace if necessary."Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/31) */ Customer came to premises indicating vehicle was hesitating and having a misfire. After completing the inspection, contacted customer providing with full estimate and options to address issues. We recommended to replace sparks plugs, coils and replace fuel injectors / cleaning valves. After going over pricing customer declined changing the injectors and the fuel injector service, which we did not complete per customer request. It seems the customer is having issues and replacing the injectors would help. Customer has warranty on the work completed and paid, so we would invite her to call us back and to talk about an issues she might be experiencing. But just to be clear, sparks plugs and injectors are different components of vehicle that not necessarily are address or included in one price and is not a common practice to replace injectors as a tune up; injectors are not part of a tune up.
