I sent Scott a "Professional and Business" email giving details of my last transaction with him and specifically requested a quote for him to come to my home, install the receiver and program the remote. His email response is copied and pasted here and was as follows, "disappointing you didn't contact me about needing/wanting to purchase a new receiver......". That was it. Nothing else. No respectful, professional business quote as requested and no information whatsoever other than how I disappointed him. I responded to him as to my being upset at his inappropriate reply and his return email's 1st comment, the following day, was "That seems a little extreme...." followed by pathetic excuses, a soliloquy of how "His" remote works and then finally, his charges. In a couple more emails back and forth, he has failed to ever address his inappropriate response, apologize for it or even suggest that he did not intend to come across in a disrespectful manner. I would highly recommend to everyone to NOT deal with this particular home theater "person" and in my personal view, he is unprofessional, arrogant, disrespectful and misleading. Please "Proceed with Caution" if you decide to hire him to do any work on your home theater system.

After his expression of disappointment in my comments, there was already a strained relationship. At this point I prefer not to spend an hour or 2 at his house with him and the tension as a result of the strained relationship. I expressed to him that there are plenty of home theater installers out there that are certainly capable of assisting with any setup of his system needed, and that can program that remote control (assuming he decides to keep the remote and not take me up on my offer to buy it back.) Or, they could sell him a different remote control and set that up after I buy back his. There is nothing about the system setup I did 2 years ago that make me the only person that can help him out.
A 1 star review would be appropriate for someone who takes money to do a job, and never returns. The only thing that he has paid for that he isn't satisfied with from my installation 2 years ago, is the remote control (which I have offered to buy back.) Other than that, his only complaint is that I stated I was disappointed that he didn't contact me when more upgrades were desired, or that I don't want to do additional work for him now nafter our interchanges. I'm not sure why that is such an issue when there are plenty of other installers out there that can do the work he needs.
