On Thursday, October 14, 2021, my husband and I dropped off a total of $270.00 to Gina ******* @ Apollo Realty in Cocoa Beach, Florida. The monies totaling $270.00 was broken down as such... $100.00 deposit to hold the property while our application was being processed, as well as $85.00 per person over the age of 18 for credit report processing as well as contacting our references and employment verification. On Monday, October 18, 2021, my husband received a call from Miss ******* at Apollo Realty to let us know we have been denied and to please come to retrieve our deposit. When we arrived, I asked why I was only being refunded $100.00 of the $270.00 when they haven't properly processed our application. Apollo Realty only ran a credit report on my husband and I through Experian, which costs them NOTHING as they are considered property management and that is offered to the free of charge by Experian. We were overcharged for incomplete work offered and want a refund.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/22) */ An application process is required for each and every prospective tenant applying for one of our managed properties. We pay a Tenant Decision company, National Tenant Network who conducts credit and background checks nationwide. There is a fee that is absorbed by the applicant and is disclosed upfront in writing that application fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. So, just to be clear, the application was processed; however, the applicant did NOT qualify. The decision is not based solely on credit score. In addition, we pull criminal records nationwide, even in Pennsylvania. Again, we were not able to help with their housing needs due to lack of qualifications. The Applicant acknowledge "in writing" that the fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Unfortunately, we were not able to help with their housing needs, due to lack of qualifications. We subscribe to high standards for the Landlords that we represent, and those standards are clear and disclosed in our Application Process for all applicants. Unfortunately, in our attempt to speak with Applicant to clarify the issues in their review, we were hung up on and we were screamed at by the Applicant. NO REFUND IS DUE. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2021/10/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I expected no less from thieves. Karma always prevails. Good day.
