I am a retired widow. I hired ***************************** to do some replacements, repairs, carpentry work, and painting, etc., to a small home located at *************************************. This home is in probate with several beneficiaries. His business is called Gator Home Improvement (Gator Home, Inc.). I paid him for the work he did, and what he promised to finish. Plus, he did not replace the old ***** valves to the bathroom sink, which caused water to leak into the bathroom walls causing the beadboard to swell up. It also ruined the brand new cabinet with sink I bought that he installed in the bathroom. He promised to clean up overspray of paint on the new roof and the smeared/overspray of paint inside the house due to his paint job, install a railing to the front door stairs, and replace glass to a broken window. He left some other work unfinished. He claimed he replaced a large support beam under the living room floor, but I have my doubts about that. I have many text messages, emails, and phone calls informing him of the leaking water, requesting a final invoice for additional work, and requesting him to contact me about these issues. He continually promised to take care of everything and provide me with an invoice for the additional work. I have not heard from him since February 24, 2024. He has not completed anything he promised to do, including not providing me with the second invoice. He is local, seemed very honest, and was personable. I really trusted him. He began the project in November 2024. His invoice reflects that his company is incorporated. He also stated he was licensed and insured. Both of those statements are false.
