I had Brian H***** from Hammerit Premier Outdoor Lighting at my home to discuss outdoor lighting on my patio. I explained to him I had an outlet box he could use to gain power for the job. He said the job would cost $2500 total and he took the job knowing full well of the situation and accepted $500 cash deposit from me. The day of the install came and he sent an unqualified worker to do the job. He said he's not a licensed electrician and couldn't do the job and left. Initially, Brian H***** said he would refund my money and asked if I had ***** so he could electronically refund my money. A few days later, he said he wasn't refunding anything and I owed him another $200 or would put a lien on my home! I spoke to my attorney & he advised me to amicably try to reconcile but I got no response from Hammerit. Bottom line...He took money to do a job didn't do the job and didn't refund my money.

We appreciate the opportunity to address the concerns raised by ******************************* and provide a transparent perspective on the situation. At Hammerit Premier Outdoor Lighting, customer satisfaction is of utmost importance, and we regret any dissatisfaction experienced by *********************

******************** expressed interest in installing Pool ************ at his residence with a timeline of a couple of weeks. To initiate the process, a non-refundable deposit was collected, and materials were promptly ordered. It was communicated that ******************** would arrange for an electrician to address the outlet requirement, as Pool light transformers typically plug into a standard outlet with the wire buried.

Our highly certified Low Voltage installer, boasting 15 years of experience, was scheduled for the job. Upon arriving at the job site with the necessary product, our installer discovered that there was no fixture to plug into. It was at this point that ******************** informed our installer that he had previously indicated the outlet was included.

It's important to clarify that our scope of work does not include the installation of electrical outlets. Faced with this unforeseen circumstance, our installer communicated the limitation to ********************, who, in turn, became frustrated. In the interest of professionalism and the safety of both parties, our installer was advised to leave the premises.

Following this, ******************** chose to share his concerns on social media, characterizing our media ads as a scam alert and continued this pattern. We want to emphasize that the non-refundable deposit covers the stocking fee, the hourly rate of the installer, and gas expenses, all of which were incurred in good faith to fulfill our commitment.

To resolve the matter, we suggested the option of completing the lighting system installation while ******************** independently arranged for an electrician to address the outlet requirement. Regrettably, this proposal was not accepted.

I am rejecting this response because: Why did Hammerit lighting text me they would refund the deposit and then never refund the money? I have copy of the text they sent!

      Sincerely,

If there was no deposit refund, why did he send me a text telling me he would electronically refund my deposit?

      Dear BBB
We appreciate the opportunity to address the concerns raised by ***** in his BBB complaint. While we sympathize with any inconvenience experienced, we believe it is essential to reiterate our position and provide clarification on the matter.
As previously explained, low voltage installations, such as pool lighting, fall outside the purview of traditional electricians. Our 15-year experienced installer is well-versed in these specific installations, ensuring a seamless and efficient process. Unfortunately, ***** chose to adopt a confrontational approach, both on social media and with our installer, which hindered the collaborative process we aim to uphold.
It is important to note that low voltage installations require designated outlets for proper functionality. Despite our installer's expertise, ***** failed to have the necessary outlets prepared as agreed upon in the initial agreement. Consequently, we were unable to proceed with the installation due to this oversight on *****'s part.
We would like to emphasize that the non-refundable security deposit is a standard requirement to secure our services and compensate our employee for their time and travel expenses. Our installer even extended an offer to collaborate with *****'s chosen electrician to enhance the electrical infrastructure in his home, accommodating the requirements for the transformer installation.
In summary, our commitment to fulfilling our end of the agreement remains steadfast. The impediment in this case stems from a deviation from the initially agreed-upon terms by the customer. Thank you for your attention to this matter,

      ***********************
