Contract was signed last year in good faith with this ** contractor, and 50% deposit was paid, about 11 months ago. A/C unit was installed, city inspection was scheduled. Inspection did not pass due to new codes (as told by contractor) that requires smoke detectors to be installed in the ** room. We became aware of the smoke detector necessity about in February 2022 only because we reached out to the contractor. Since then we have communicated (emails, text messages, phone calls) with the vendor OVER 12 times asking for a completion date. The contractor/owner continually says he will be on-site to finish the job but does NOT show up to complete the job, and schedule for final inspection. The associations board of directors have been very patient by waiting almost a year for this project to be completed. If this project does not get completed (passed inspection) within the next 45 days they leave no choice but to take further action.Business response

I have told customer they need a new key station and they dont have any at supply house due to shortage from factory. Last spoke to her and she said to take old one from old unit and use it. She is on schedule for this to happen this coming week. Unit is working and I am owed the money at final. Im the one losing if I dont finish.
