Susan H******** should not be allowed to treat another animal. I am from NC…I know 6 people in the Daytona/Ormond Beach area, two of them had to euthanize their pets because of misdiagnosis by Susan.

We regret that you are not happy with our services or staff. We do not have record of you as a client with us, but we assume you are speaking of your ex-wife's pet from your previous review on ******: "Abdominal abnormalities. That is what Susan ********* wrote in our baby's lab report in December 2022. but didn't bother to tell us. Five months later after having to take Belle to an emergency hospital, only then did we learn that she had pancreatic cancer...It was too late for our baby...********* did suggest we get Belle's teeth cleaned. This woman should not be near your pet." If this is the case, we would like to clarify your misunderstanding of the situation and address your accusations. When Belle was seen by Dr. ********* on December 20, 2022, the complaint was that the pet was coughing, and there was no mention of "abdominal abnormalities" in her notes. To the contrary, it was stated that the abdomen palpated normally. It was recommended that Belle be dropped off for x-rays and bloodwork when the owner called back on 12/27/22 stating that the pet was still coughing. We had a relief veterinarian working that week, so the follow up visit was not with Dr. *********. Our relief vet thoroughly explained in detail the bloodwork results and recommendations of further diagnostics, possibly including an abdominal ultrasound. The recommendation of a dental, in the future, was made because dental disease can contribute to health problems and may have been starting to cause problems for Belle. The pet was not taken for an ultrasound, which may have shown an issue with the pancreas in December. Belle was not seen again until May 2023, at which time the complaint was lethargy and vomiting once. We recommended a recheck of bloodwork because things often change quickly. Luckily the owner finally agreed to bloodwork as Belle was then diabetic and had increased kidney values and pancreatitis. We began treatment at our office on 5/10/23 and discharged the pet to the owner at the end of the day to take to an emergency hospital as we do not have overnight staff and being newly diabetic, Belle needed close monitoring and continued treatment for pancreatitis. Belle was returned to us the following day, continued treatment for the day and again was recommended to be transferred to an ER overnight, and preferably for the rest of her treatment to make things easier on her and to keep the treatment consistent. She was taken to a different ER this time, causing a disruption in her treatment plan, now being under the care of 3 different doctors. This ER recommended starting from scratch with diagnostics. They did an ultrasound (as we recommended months before) and stated that there was inflammation of the pancreas possibly due to pancreatitis OR cancer. No aspirates or biopsies were taken to get a definitive diagnosis of cancer. There was no misdiagnosis by Dr. *********. There were recommendations given that were not properly followed and the progressive nature of diabetes that led to other unfortunate complications. We always welcome the opportunity to have a conversation with a client if there is a perceived issue with treatment, but the posting of unfounded accusations with lack of any true details about the situation is unappreciated.
