The directions - received both via email and text message - send renters to the rental care counter in the airport rental car center. However, the counter is NOT staffed; instead, renters have to go outside to the kiosk in the parking garage. Had it not been for the helpful employee of a competitor, I would have never found the correct location.
This company requires proof of insurance, as well as a copy of a utility bill, for all local renters. This is unheard of in the rental car industry, and this information is not posted on Expedia so that renters are made aware of this prior to arriving at the rental car counter. The employee stated that the utility bill was required in order to verify the address listed on my state-issued drivers license. However, she also informed me that it didn't matter if my name did not appear on the utility bill nor did it matter how recent the utility bill was. So clearly the company policy makes ZERO sense and doesn't do what it is intended to do.
Furthermore, it stated online that my rental included unlimited mileage. Upon arrival, I was informed that since I was a local renter, that did not apply. I was limited to 150 miles per day. Bait and switch much?
In addition, should I need to extend the duration of my car rental, I am unable to simply call and notify them of this. Instead, I must return IN PERSON to the rental car facility, and an entirely new rental agreement will be issued.
Terrible business model. Terrible customer service. Just terrible. If I could give negative stars, I would. Please avoid at all costs!!
