On 5/6/23, Dane from Veteran Tree Surgeons gave us and estimate of $800 for tree trimming, removal of large branch over house and debris removal. After many delays and excuses, he finally sent out 2 men on 5/16/23. Wayne the worker was paid $800 by check. When we returned the work was not completed. Debris was left in the backyard, on the curb and branch was not cut. When Wayne was contacted, he mentioned equipment failure. One lie after another and we finally had to remove the debris ourselves. Check cashed same day. From this point on we continued to call and text Dane and Wayne for an update and they would not respond. Finally, I texted Wayne again and advised, we wanted a refund and Wayne said, "OK". As of this date, No Refund.

On November 17, 2022, Rob of Veteran Tree Surgeons was canvassing the neighborhood for business. He was doing work in the area and could give me a good price for services. Most of the work was satisfactorily done. The Oak? trees on the East side of the house has been of particular problem, dropping leaves on the roof & gives squirrels access to our attic. For $2500, Rob's crew were to removes the trees on the west side of the house (DONE), remove the tree from the center of the front lawn, and remove any and all branches from the oaks on the east side of the property that hung over our property. (All but 1 oak belong to our neighbors). This was not done. There are still branches hanging over our roof allowing access to our attic. They did not accept credit cards at the time, so I paid cash from my savings account. The job was not completed. I am disabled with a brain injury and am suffering from heart failure so I assumed the work was correct. The trees completely removed were obvious, the trim work was not. I am a US Navy veteran, so I like to patronized veteran family businesses. I was deceived by Rob of Veteran Tree Surgeons. The business card has Rob handwritten on the back.

Few days after Hurricane Nicole I retained Veteran Tree Surgeons to cut down several heavy branches in my yard. The team worked on several large branches in the backyard. In addition to the branches in the backyard, there are branches in the front yard that need to be cut down. Due to it being Friday (11/10/2022) and getting late in the day, Dane, asked if they could come back the following Friday to finish the front yard. I agreed because we had a good rapport and believed VTS was company of integrity, especially with the name Veteran in it. I paid Dane with a check - that has been cashed. Next Friday, no call, no show. I reached out to Dane via email and text message. Said he would see when he was in the area next. Never heard back from Dane. Reached out again - same response. I do not like filing a complaint, but I am left with no choice in order to help other patrons. They do great work but ensure all work is completed same day before rendering payment. ***** ******** USMC Veteran

Paid for tree work, paid 6,000.00 they did cut the tree, they did move the tree to the street and LEFT. WITHOUT THE TREE. Have been trying to get them to come back to finish the job. At first I got excuses about equipment failure now there is no response at all. I am going to have to hire another company to finish the job they started and have not finished, it's been 5 days.

On 2 October 2022 we hired Veteran Tree Surgeons to remove three trees that had fallen to the ground( 1 medium size oak and 2 large pine trees) and two standing damaged palm trees( 1 large, 1 medium size) Rob the point man said that the going price to remove the two palms would $1200 per tree (total of $2400)and that removing the three down tree would $4800 but would only charge us the price of one palm, bringing the total to $6000. He also stated that all debris would be removed from our lot and placed on the adjacent vacant lot with the rest of the debris. When they were done one of the workers stated to me that they were too busy getting to the next customer to do that part of the job. They were in front of our house waiting around at least 45 minutes and some of the workers were very intrigued with the pond behind our house. After I paid my bill, $6000 , the next day we did a bit of research and talked to neighbors whose bills ranged from $3000 to $5000 with a lot more tree damage. We requested an itemized bill as we were going to contact the owner of the lot to try and get him to pay for his trees( two pine trees) that fell on our lot. The bill we received from the company has $6000 on it but it looks like the 6 was written over another number. We feel that they inflated the price of the removal of the trees because of the hurricane and we weren't thinking very clearly because of the stress and as a veteran I feel that they use that term in their sales pitch to influence my decision to use them.
