July 31 2023 KA ** was hired to upgrade the *** battery power system to a battleborne lithium power system . The super C rv coach was back several times immediately after the initial install with power issues. Tech reported that it was just a programing issue and released the ** back as everything checked out ok. During the next month as we traveled we encountered a variety of power issues and we called for tech support. Tech insisted it was fine and just programing quirks. After continued issues we called the owner of KA ** (andrey) that agreed that we take it to another tech for inspection. The inspection uncovered a variety of safety issues and improper wiring configuration as well as evidence of a fire and melted wiring . The owner of KA ** agreed to reimburse for the removal and reinstallation by the 3rd party tech. Once we had it completed and paid the bill, ****** (owner of KA **) refuses to reimburse based on him not liking the way the 3rd party invoices look. We had the 3rd party rewrite the invoice to include more details and ****** eventually said he would have his "legal team" call me. WE are out the additional $7000 for the repairs to the Coach.

I dropped off my RV to have a repair done. ************ left the battery switch to on which killed my battery. My husband and I reached out to them and told them what happened. They said I should just charge my battery and it isn't there job to teach us how to operate ******. I tried re-charging the rv battery but it is dead and not working. I am requesting that they pay for the cost to replace the battery on my RV since it was their negligence that caused the battery to die out.

      To whom it may concern:

Please see attached documentation in response to complaint #********.

Attached are two documents. The first is a form with several different disclaimers that is completed and signed by each customer (except when the customer is waiting with the vehicle for completion of the repairs). Among other things, one of these disclaimers is that KA RV REPAIR is not responsible for the charging or maintaining of batteries. Due to the inherent nature of the construction of batteries,(energy stored in liquid), batteries lose their charge over time with no regard to measures taken to prevent this (using disconnects, etc.). Batteries are also very sensitive to changing temperatures throughout the year. Interestingly this BBB complaint was filed early December just after a major seasonal temp drop happened. This is likely the cause of this failed battery.

The second document is the estimate and paid invoice for the last repair we preformed for this vehicle. Dated for 11/07/2023 this repair was completed one month before the reported BBB complaint. This repair we performed was a replacement motor for the patio awning of the vehicle. The work was completed in about 4 hours and was then released back to the customer. Not to mention the work was performed with no parts mark-up or labor billed in an attempt by the owner of the company to help the customer with their concerns of the costs of the ** repairs. But the customer still can not be satisfied as proven by this fraudulent BBB complaint.

We do not recall that the customer ever called in to state the issue with the battery. But we would have stated all these facts to them if they had.

Please consider this an office denial of the customer's request to replace cost of the battery due to:

      - Fragile condition of battery/ seasonal considerations.

      - Customer signed disclaimer/******.

      - Length of time between report and previous service.

      - Length of time the vehicle was in our possession.

      Godspeed

I am rejecting this response because we notified them immediately after receiving the vehicle back that they had left the battery switch on and killed ***********.  This was due to their neglect and not cold weather.  They were very rude and uncooperative.  The first time we brought the vehicle for some basic maintenance they came back and told us the awning motor died.  They are being dishonest by claiming they did not mark up the cost because they did.  They first quoted us one price and then came back with another price saying they quoted the wrong price.  My husband told them to go ahead and replace it and then we get the vehicle back with a dead battery.  Every time we bring them the vehicle something else breaks down.  The vehicle is not that old and everything was working properly when the vehicle was dropped off.  Very coincidental that there is always an issue when we get it back.  Buyer beware.  I will continue to pursue this further with whatever alternative means available to me.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

The only proof was that they did work on my rv and left the battery on.  I had to relplace my battery because of this.  It was working perfectly when I dropped off my vehicle. They can deny responsibility all they want.  I want others to be aware that I brought my rv there for maintenance and every time I get it back something else was broken or needed replacing.  They are rude and arrogant and try to rob you blind.   I will never bring my rv there ever again.   I am sure there are others that have faced similar situations with this company.

      Sincerely,

For repair service of bathroom sanitation system, propane tank error, and electrical system diagnostics, and later an installment of an additional solar panel. Service spanned between Jun 11, 2021, and May 6, 2022 with no less than 6 revisits after vehicle was transferred to KA RV from Gander RV for same service, due to KA RV having a certification in Airstream repairs, and Gander could not repair unit. Since then, I have paid KA RV $4867 pass the undetermined sum awarded by **************** Insurance Company for the precise same aforementioned services. The latest service conducted May 6, 2022 shown by the attachments proved to be the same service purchased 22 Dec 2020 and are still in need of completion. It is understood that KARV guarantees their work for on 90 days, but it is unseemly that the nature of the work performed would last less than 1 year, nor all of the repairs done would have to be repeated continually and within a year. I am still in need of repair for the propane tank gauges and tank panels today; bathroom and solar seems ok. However, during the last repair, KA RV has as policy no obligation to maintain the batteries in my unit, which is why I disconnected the batteries and informed them of that, prior to leaving the vehicle with them. KA RV reconnected the batteries to do service, did not re-disconnect the batteries, then had a delay in receiving parts for 2 weeks, causing the batteries to drain. I did not ask KA RV to maintain the batteries, just to not reconnect the battery for an extended amount of time (2 weeks) and then thereby restate their policy on battery maintenance, and cost me an additional $80 for new batteries, even after a bill for $3178 for services still incomplete and is the same service I paid for 1 year ago. Attached docs from Gander Rv dated 22 Dec 20 will show same work order from KA RV dated Mar 10, 2022; and as I mentioned, I have taken my unit back and back to KA RV for more than 6 times with no different repairs.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/06/15) */ PLEASE SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENT To whom it may concern: 06/13/2022 The purpose of this letter is to address the Better Business Bureau case # ******** filed by ************* regarding repairs performed on his Airstream Interstate RV. Mr.****** is claiming that there are outstanding issues related to repairs completed on his RV over the last year and a half. This is false. KA RV repair has demonstrated the functionality of the repaired components here at the repair facility at the end of each service appointment or offered an explanation and suggested repair to get the system functional again. Mr.****** has declined performing some of the needed/suggested repairs that have been recommended by KA RV. He has attempted some of these repairs himself. Once he attempted these repairs any applicable warranty on related systems was lost as per our internal company warranty policy. Mr.****** has elected to replace the original batteries of this unit with a cheap undersized battery due to the costs of the original factory batteries. This has altered the functionality of the vehicle. KA RV cannot be responsible for modifications that were performed by the customer or a different repair facility that are causing issues with related systems. E.g.: batteries, solar, etc. Mr.****** has then called back into the office after several weeks with a complaint of a nonfunctioning item. We then set a new service appointment for diagnosis. Once the issues have been diagnosed, we complete a new estimate with our findings. We have completed any outstanding issues that seem to be related to previous work. But if there are newly damaged items/ issues that are not warrantable, he is responsible for the cost involved If Mr.****** elects to perform the repairs. Part of Mr. ****'s complaints are related to the amount of money that he was responsible for from the original insurance claim. The damages were assessed by the insurance company and the adjusters have approved the amount related to the damages as they deemed applicable. The customer elected to have the remaining/ unapproved repairs completed even though they were not approved as part of the insurance claim. He was planning on going back to the insurance company and forcing them to cover the rest of the loss. I am guessing that the insurance has held firm on their initial decision and denied any additional funds for the claim. KA RV cannot be responsible for customer elected repairs that were denied by the insurance. Mr.****** has requested to take the vehicle to another repair shop for repairs and KA RV to cover the cost. Mr.****** is welcome to take the vehicle to any repair facility he would like to. But KA RV will not be responsible for any costs related to repairs. Owning and RV is very expensive, especially when the vehicle is an older primum product like the Airstream Interstate Mr.****** owns. KA RV will regrettably need to refuse Mr.****** any future service appointment considering the complaint filed under false pretense with the BBB. CHRISTOPHER T. P**** KA RV REPAIR
