AMS is truly the worst out of all of them. This is the second time they have taken my money only to backorder the product immediately with no projected delivery date. Real companies don't charge until the order ships!I did manage to get through to customer service to cancel the order and was told I could expect a refund in 3 to 7 working days. Ridiculously unacceptable business practices and the worst part about it is nobody at AMS really cares how bad it is.Review from Noble W

I have purchased quite a bit of gear from AMS and I have always found them to be a great company thats been easy to work with and their no interest, no credit check payment options are just fantastic for people like me who at one time had great credit prior to a nasty divorce which just absolutely destroyed my credit.Review from Glenn W

So I purchased an ******************** 700 LED Fog Machine from AMS a few days ago. I wanted to use it at a party I had to DJ at over the weekend. I set it up used it once and it immediately stopped working. I contacted AMS about returning the device and was told that they would not accept the return. It would only have been accepted if the box was unopened. Exactly how would I know it was defective if I didn't open the box? I have made previous purchases through AMS but after this experience that will stop.American Musical Supply Response

Hi, *****! This is indeed an item that we are not able to accept for return or exchange, but it does come with the manufacturer's warranty. If you give them a call at ************* they should be able to assist with your defective unit.Review from Alex L

I called the credit department to understand why some of my credit card information, and my "whitepages" information was kicking back a payment plan. I have the funds, I have the credit but wanted to go for the payment plan out of convenience and current budget. This guy proceeds to condescendingly tell me that I should "go to a family member or friend" if I really want the item, and that "lets suppose hypothetically for a moment I was a fraud", - to me asking for exact details as to why the order was declined. Afterall, it is my billing, and card information these people have and you can't come back with a direct response with evidence. Instead, I got taken for a fraud over the phone, and told to have my family buy this for me. I can see why the **** stars. I can also see why AMS is the 27th most used musical instrument supplier in the Western Hemisphere. I'll be going back to where the water is sweeter. Enjoy your soon-to-come chapter filing. They sent me a used banjo at full price. The fact that they tried to offer me a mere 70 dollars for partial refund is a slap in the face. They didn't even try and deny the fact that they sent me a used ******* goodtime 2 banjo makes me think they do this c*** all the time. Beware . I think asking half price for the trouble alone is only fair.Review from Rafael R

Just got off the phone with a Supervisor at the credit department. They were supposed to issue me a refund for a returned order but instead applied it to an existing monthly plan, against my will. He arrogantly claimed that he "has a recording" affirming that I agreed to that, which I did not. He is a liar. I would never agree to that. Monthly payment plans are contractual and they play around with it as they wish, I lost my temper and began screaming, which to them makes me sound unstable and unreasonable, but I was, within reason, very upset. I have spent over $12,000 with AMS, since 2017, but today was treated unfairly. I now see why they are rated so low on the BBB site. The Male Supervisor would not even give me his name, as if I would not be able to find out who he reports to at AMS. I know their history and of their ************** acquisitions. Fair to say that I am doe with them. While their prices are comparable, this treatment of a long time customer is unjust.Review from cathryn m

$5400 order and nothing but absolute arrogance from supervisor ***** at AMS. Still missing 2 RCFS and 4 ****** power conditioners, been hung up on, spoken to like Im worthless all the while still missing over half of my order. 7 years and $25,000+ later I will never ever use or recommend AMS EVER. And to top it off they sent 1 RCF that was confirmed lost by ***** and proceeded to charge me another $1300 for it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS, everything is good until you have an issue. Good luck getting any customer service or the items they were quick to charge you for, you will be belittled on the phone or placed on hold indefinitely by customer service rep ****** if you dare ask where the equipment you paid for is. At the time of writing this review I still dont have thousands of dollars of equipment I paid for nearly 2 weeks ago and all I have gotten is attitude and talked down to by their supervisor *****. Ordered a ******************* **** Custom April 3 2022 Put down almost **** dollars on my CITI card.I was so excited my dream guitar!! That while the guitar was in transit I used 2 gift cards worth 300 dollars to make the next months payment on the 12 month plan.Guitar arrived with a snapped headstock!! Gut wrenching!! Sent the guitar back, instead of issuing my refund to my CITI card they "said" they issued it back to the gift card!!!By law it's supposed to go back to the issuing card. I spent 40 hours on the phone with AMS calling every day to mmake sure the refund was issued back to my citi card & get them to even issue a refund.As of today 6-1-22 after my 40th hour speaking with the gift card company I was told no refund was issued to the gift cards!! I'd give them negative stars if possible.My last phone contact with AMS I was told they issued the refund,, *** us, see you in small claims court!I'd avoid like the plague!!!Review from Brad J

They led me on a week long fiasco, over 20 calls, and they canceled 3 orders of mine all because they didn't reach me at a number associated with my public records. The phone number was a landline from my childhood that didn't even have my name on. I attempted to reconcile the situation with little to no help on their part. At the end of the day while waiting on a return phone call that never happened (typical) they informed ne that someone in the system canceled the order for a third time without explanation. They put in the notes that it was the customers request. Lies. No help. Terrible service. I entertained this way too long.Review from Peter M

Ordered a mojo tone wiring harness, did not receive the wiring harness pictured in the ad. Contacted customer service. They refused a refund on the product as did a supervisor claiming that it was correct when it wasn't. I usually buy a couple grand in equipment a year from them. That ended today. Never again. Will I use American musical supply. Horrible company. Horrible customer service and constant bait and switch tactics.American Musical Supply Response

It looks like the images you provided showed the correct product but the wires the manufacture uses had changed in color/configuration.
